I like this idea a lot.  Maybe we can host someone's top 10 or 15 favorites in the slideshow to enter our website every month or every couple of months... I don't know. Does it sound interesting to anyone? I could even put a little tagline saying who picked them with a link back to what they are and why the person chose them. just for fun. anybody like to start? |

I enjoy to pick over and to compare Roof's various expressions gathering them into a portfolio. What do you mean exactly? I chosed them because his smile is always lovely but with nuances: proud smile (AKT), cheerful smile (ASF), serene smile (CII), sweet smile (DW), smart smile (EO), loving smile (DB), shy smile (TW), reassuring smile (TI), fond smile (TOTS), enraptured smile (V). I have more than these, I restricted myself.  As well I picked over the expressions most funny, most sexy or charming, and the best over all. |

I was just suggesting maybe people would like to take turns choosing the pictures for the slideshow into the website. And maybe if they did, they could tell us why they chose them so we could include it as part of their own unique slideshow.
Something like an art gallery showing.

It's alright to choose picture into the website, but either do you mean to do that without doing a topic picking in topic slideshow or they rate their favorite one over all and then it makes a topic slideshow?

I like the idea, and hopefully we wouldn't all pick the same
expressions over and over. I say that just because dreamer
has already picked several of my personal favorites, though our reasons were somewhat different.
Also, say we wanted to make a caption from one of our movies
to use in the slideshow. How difficult is that for someone like
me who supposedly has the basic DVD editing software, but
hasn't learned to use it?
Do you recommend I stick to using the caps on your site Maxx?

I hadn't put too much thought into it really. I was just thinking I change the pictures semi-often, why not let you guys choose instead. I thought I could add a little link to a sort of mini-bio about whatever you wanted to say... about the photos or Rufus or your dog or whatever. Sort of an "I'm a fan of Rufus" We could use screen names if people liked. We could even include a photo or two of you or your dog or your pots you throw or your paintings or whatever... The photos will have to be hosted on Roofsewell.com because I can't get them into my code if they aren't. They don't have to be mine but you have to be able to give them to me so I can use them. As far as adding captions... I'd have to think about that. I like the portal to be clean and simple and I can see this getting quickly out of hand and I don't want to put myself in the position of being the arbiter of it, so I think it might be best to steer clear of that. but make a suggestion. I'm willing to be convinced. And as far as repeats from one month to the next... There are some pictures that I'm very fond of. You'll notice now that they never leave. I don't see a problem with it. Does that answer your question? |

I mean the theme can be up to them. For example yours was a smile. so we put a link to a little biopage after we've made the slideshow with your choices and you say what you said here-- these are smiles. I chose them because.... I'm dreamer. I've been a Rufus fan for X years and I like hiking, underwater basketweaving and hedge-triming. My favorite Rufus film is The Holiday. I have a pet iguana named Normie. Here is his picture. something like that. Whatever people want to say about themselves and Rufus. sort of a 'get to know the fans' type thing |
