to the Aussies and Kiwis who will be rolling out of bed on Wednesday morning in a few hours.
Is "Happy" appropriate? I know in the US we use it for everything, even Memorial Day which is roughly our equivalent.

Thanks! Probably not "happy" but definitely a national day with lots of nationalistic feelings flowing. It has become bigger and bigger over the years which has surprised many people now that pretty much all the Anzacs have gone - I think they have all passed away although there were one or two left last year. The younger generation now carries the baton and the WWII vets are dwindling as the Vietnam Vets come up to take their place. Watching the parades is a very emotional experience and they have parades in every little country town as well as in the big cities. DS1 went to the dawn service this morning but I blush to admit I tend to stay in bed!
