GE2, did you live in an Indian restaurant as a kid? Each and every one in West London has this wallpaper. Some of them even have this pattern on the carpet.

Yes, My Indian friends have brilliant taste in fabrics. The Indians make some of the most beautiful silk and handstitched fabrics in the world. I'm always dazzled by their sari's whenever I find myself at a party with them. Each one is more beautiful than the other. I've been fortunate to be given all sorts of lovely things from India. Now if I could only get them to start bringing me back some of their gorgeous jewelry. This design must be something special to the west side--a desire to make people feel more at home in some way. Indian hospitality is typically spectactular. I don't recall ever being in an Indian restaurant here with anything but unpapered walls.

GE2, did you live in an Indian restaurant as a kid? Ha,ha!! Nope - but then I wasn't brought up in London. Come to think of it, I don't remember us ever having curry at home (my dad would have called it "foreign muck") and it's unlikely our decor was inspired by the local tandoori! LOL
