Hi to everyone here, I felt right at home as soon as I found your board! Nice set up, easy to navigate, lovely people here.
I'm from Australia. I've admired what I've seen of Rufus' work, he is an amazingly talented man.

Welcome ophelia darcy, happy to have you join us. Do you know that Ruf's father was an Australian? Tell us, what movies or plays of Ruf's have you seen other than Middlemarch & Hamlet?

Welcome OD. Thank you for the nice words about our little board. We have a few other Aussies and a Kiwi or two as well. You've picked a wonderful time to join. The movement to see Rufus on Broadway in Rock 'n' Roll is just gearing up so if you're interested you can find a roommate here and loads of info about New York and Rock 'n' Roll. Some of of us saw it in London last year and wouldn't dream of missing it. Jump in. Have fun. Tell us all about your Rufus fetish so we can tell you about ours.

Oh , Oh !!! Another Aussie - G'day mate! And you stitch too!!!!! (is that proper sewing or cross stitch type stuff?). Did you catch Taming of the Shrew when it was on ABC earlier this year? If not I suggest you head off down to the ABC shop or JB HiFI and get one asap.

Thanks for the lovely welcome, everyone!
I must admit I haven't seen much Rufus work at all, so I'm going to be quite ignorant about some things. And it's only fair to say up front that this is mostly because I do my best not to watch shows that contain sex scenes and/or bad language. -I'd love to know if there was any of that in The Taming of the Shrew; anyone like to give me a run-down?
I've also seen Rufus' rendition of the 911 poem (on youtube), but that's the extent of my Rufusisms, I'm afraid!
Quoll, I do cross stitch as well as proper sewing. When catching Middlemarch for the first time I was making a fully lined black knee length dress for my teenage daughter - whew, what an ordeal! It was needed for the next day, so I was very pleased to have something so good to watch. I'm in NSW, by the way.

Ah, bit of a difficulty with TOTS then - not exactly a sex scene, no, but could be construed as one (all clothes on - in view anyway). Bad language - well the ABC put it on at 8.30, does that give you a clue? Not exactly any bleepables but some definite bad word intent. However, a hysterical production all in all. There is a scene on the roofsewell website and also another on youtube which will give you the gist of what happens.
You could try the Paris je t'aime clip - it was on youtube until quite recently and I think the movie may still be in Aussie cinemas although you probably dont want to sit through the remainder of the movie for the 6 minute Rufus vignette. Cold Comfort Farm would be available easily and is fine. The Woodlanders is another nice production if you can cope with the miserableness of Hardy.
I live in ACT btw - except at the moment I am in UK on holiday and not looking forward to going back to those 6C days! Should have said too, I am a fanatical cross stitcher, but just cannot get my head around the really functional stuff like dresses and shirts. I admire anyone who can!!!!
