Okay, can some of you give this a try and let me know the outcome? New web encoding process--better quality, larger size. It's streaming so if you have a slow connection you may want to let it play through once and then watch it again. I'm not going to give any help or hints on how to use it or downloading players or such so I need you to be very specific about what does or does not happens when you go to it. Oh, and it's the scene we voted on. If it works I'll convert some of the other multimedia that's taken from a good quality source. www.roofsewell.com/NTM.htmldid I say Thanks?

I just get a black screen and the little bar at the top of my screen asks me if I want to install the player.

can you install it and then try it to see if it works? The screen won't have controls until you click on it but you will see a big blue X.
Whoever it was that asked about the Mac, can you repost it? I need to do some research to see if Divx works on a Mac. It would be important to know.
I have used this with Foxfire and IE. I haven't tried Opera or Netscape.
Downloading the plugin or player(whichever it says) is worth the effort because you get big beautiful clear pictures with crisp sound. And there is an option if you right click to go full screen. This is so much better than any of the others I hope we can get it working for most everyone.

I can't Maxx, I had it installed and while watching something my computer almost crashed so I had to get rid of it and and a few other things a couple days ago. My hard drive seems to be full all of a sudden for some strange reason.

okay. thank you for trying. You got the prompt to install which is great. All is working as it should. Now if it can be played...
I just discovered about an hour ago that this particular player also dims your desktop as you watch so you don't have any distractions. Great piece of software. I want everyone to have it!

Works very well - Opera 9 browser. I wondered why it didnt work when I first started it but you have to restart your computer for the divx to register as being installed. Took quite a while to buffer but it was quite a long clip. Quality was excellent and the clip was very smooth - broadband here so expect that dial up would be very lengthy. Odd, because I thought I already had divx installed but apparently not! Should have read your message more closely - didnt try the full screen option but I could be persuaded to watch it again (where is the little arm twisting icon when you need him? )

Try the 3rd multimedia page. There is something new there that anyone who does not have the dvds of TOTS will not have seen. It's VERY large. 40 meg, since I put it all up. But worth the download, I think. I will likely trim it back to just the Roof talking bits after everyone who wants to see it has had a chance.
interesting about how it took so long to download. I didn't have that issue at all. It buffered and started streaming immediately. It's only 25 meg

Give me all the info you can and give me a few days to track down a mac to test it. I need to find someone who has one.

Tried the page 3 one but after 7 minutes was only 70% buffered and hadnt started spontaneously. I didnt hit the > arrow again though to see if it would play without being fully downloaded.

okay, I've also discovered completely by trial and error that this works much much better with maximum ram. I will tell you that if you have trouble running DVDs on your machine you may have trouble with this. Which means close everything before you try downloading. Older machines may never have the juice to do this.
As to the files on page 3, it's large. 40 meg. you can be the judge if it's worth it or not to download. Everyone should have some idea how long it takes to download a reasonable sized file. Multiply that by whatever factor the file percentage is of 40.
I wish I could help. For me all of this works fine.
suffice it to say, I can put the scene up but the extras would never be feasible in another file format as they'd be huge and even more difficult to download.
I've tested this on 6 different machines with speeds from T3 to DSL and operating systems from 2000 to vista and it works great but DOES take varying degrees of download time. I have tested mozilla, opera and IE. I have not tried netscape. Tomorrow I hope to test on a mac.

thanks jemima. It's good to know it works well for someone other than me.
Is anyone a mac user and willing to work with me? I'm having trouble finding anyone who owns one.
