Finally getting over my cold, but the warmish weather seems to be going away. I've enjoyed the above average (almost 15 degrees warmer). But cold weather is coming this weekend. Also looking forward to going to my niece's bridal shower this weekend. Will be nice to catch up with family.

Old was on TV late last night and I have it taped. Not a huge fan of M Night Shyamaian, but as I recall it got decent reviews and Rufus got a good mention. Have you seen it Kygal or Midoro? Looking forward to seeing it.

I saw it. It was not my thing. Interesting twist. Rufus is always good. Not sure he was unable to do Elvis due to THIS role but I would have stayed with Elvis! Anxious to hear what you think about it.

Oops, two weeks since I last wrote! Hope you all had a good time! Guess I told you about my mum´s surgery and getting covid in hospital. She returned about two weeks ago, was only at home one day when she fell and broke her femur, so back in hospital. Thankfully they managed with another surgery, so she could walk soon and went back home last Monday (or rather they urged her, as they needed the bed). She now walks a bit with a walker, but will hopefully get better soon. Phoning and visiting is on my daily/weekly list. Thankfully my brother also cares, but my sister doesn´t show any interest. Otherwise we had some snow that melted but returned today, even if only a bit. Our girls will come for lunch tomorrow, and on Sunday we´ll visit the villa of a deceased painter nearby. Midoro, so sorry to hear about your mother’s fall and surgery. I hope by now she is better and able to go home. I have a brother who is like your sister, never took any part in caring for my late mother. Sigh, I guess every family has someone like that.
My niece’s shower was very nice but oh so different from when I was young. My sister and niece had an argument about opening the presents at the shower my niece saying that no one does that anymore. Well, I can see why! There were 42 people there. It was held in an event space in a nice restaurant. I reminded my sister that in our day a shower had about 10 to 15 people and was held in someone’s living room. Weddings and all of the attendant festivities have certainly gotten very elaborate.
Had my first cataract surgery yesterday. So far I’m pleased with the results. The vision in that eye is quite good. I think when both eyes are done I may not need anything other than reading glasses. As someone who wore glasses for 60 years that is almost miraculous. Next week I get the other one done.

Good to hear about your surgery, Rachel, and fingers crossed the next one will help you leaving your glasses behind! I´ve been having mine for 40 years now, though my sight isn´t too bad. Reading gets more difficult, but I got varifocals.
I don´t think we´ve got something like a bridal shower here, but it sounds quite extravagant.
Hope none of you were affected by the snow storms in the US! Here it will get -7°C which I find cold enough. I´d like Spring too! Already saw a few snowdrops in our garden.
