Gosh you have been a busy girl - I love the Adamson house! I wish I lived in a place like that! Isn't it cool? If you come to LA, you'll have to go there. Its lovely and on a beach in Malibu, which makes the tourist in everyone truly happy.

Welcome back, etb! Sounds like you are a great tour guide! We just did Disneyland, the beach, Hollywood, the Chinese theater, Rodeo Drive...........you know, all the tourist traps, because we had 2 teenage girls that wanted to see all that stuff! I'd like to go back, without the kids!

I actually thought about doing that this trip since I'm bringing the little blonde child with me. We'll see. When you get to the top do you get to scream, "I'm the king of the world!!!"

Of course you have a tourist in you Maxx!!! I agree with quoll, of course you have an inner tourist, Maxx, or you'd never go ANYWHERE outside of the city where you live and you most definitely wouldn't be panning a trip to Australia! (I've known people who are true non-tourists and they hate leaving their front porch, no kidding!) You just don't sound interested in the typical Hwood toursity things. You'd probably be interested in the Adamson house for the workmanship, gorgeous tile, beautiful gardens, ocean view and the historic lagoon its located on. You just wouldnt' care whether it were in Malibu or not as a tourist would. (And frankly, I don't either, I just love it because it's pretty and the location is pretty and I'm a tile whore!) I'm sure the house would look just as lovely somewhere over looking Sydney Harbour or anyplace else with similiar weather. Hell, it'd probably look BETTER! Well, except for the Spanish/California Mission theme of the architecture. That might seem a wee bit out of place in Australia. LOL. Ah, glad you guys had fun, but I have to say, I'm SO GLAD that my friend didn't want to do most of those things. Of course, as a movie buff/geek she *did* want to do the Chinese and find her favorite stars on the Hwood Walk of Fame, but thank heavens, that was about as traditional touristy as we got. Of course the stars she picked were literally at OPPPOSITE ends of Hwood Blvd. Trust me, I never realized how bloody long that street is to walk and I didn't realize we'd be doing so much walking, so I've got a GIANT blister on my foot right now.

It is a long walk.........of course the girls wanted to see the stars of teen stars and we told them that none of those people had EARNED a star so far!!! So they walked around with us sort of bored at that point! There were a few people that sparked their interest.......but mostly they would go into the shops all along the way and look at all the tourist trash for sale! I should say trash........because they did buy me one of those Oscar statues that says World's Best Mom.......they hid it and gave it to me for my birthday! And yes, I display it proudly!

LOL. The process in getting a star is your fans nominate you and raise the money to pay for the star and your star needs to have done a lot of charity work. And go figure, Hugh Jackman's fans did this and he was TURNED DOWN for a star, but Britney Spears apparently got one! I mean, not that Hugh is the greatest actor on the planet, but he's DEFINITELY done more than Britney to get a star!
