I like the fiery, passionate (and yes, maybe a little rough) scenes too, Maxx. The bedroom villa scene in TOTS springs to mind and, dare I say it, the rape scene in HOT? I think the latter is purely because I just couldn't imagine NOT being a willing participant......but Rufus is definitely at his best when there's a dark edge to the love/sex scene.

...and the way he kisses is so sweet and passionate. There are many actors who cannot pull off a kiss on camera - they look like a blow fish searching for the straw to a MacDonald's Shake - an absolute turn off.
Rufus knows how to kiss!

It's hard to think of a more tender kiss than the one in Higher Love that's in July's COTM. That is just so beautiful....just a shame that Minnie Driver's on the receiving end.

Is the kissing scene referred to in Charles, also in The Last King? I was given to understand there's stuff in Charles not in TLK. I would HATE to miss what might be one of Ruf's best kissing scenes! That would be so sad. And what does DC stand for??? Ruf has had some good love scenes/kisses, but I think this poll is mostly showing that we need some more, and longer, lusty ones at that!!

Yes the kissing scene is also in The Last King as I recall. I don't own that one so I'm not entirely sure but I think it is. There is quite a bit of footage in the Charles that isn't in the TLK. DC is Dark City which has a scene where Murdock puts his hand-cuffed hands through the glass then kisses his wife Emma before they haul him back to his cell:   |

I have been doing Rufus research and I have found three kisses to suggest. They are:
Middlemarch: Will comes to Dorothea near the end of the film, after they have discovered they love each other. He stands, waiting for her to make the first move. She does, of course, wouldn’t we all! Then the first kiss is very gentle, tender, and tentative, followed by a second kiss, more confident, yet still gentle.
The Woodlanders: Grace approaches Giles, who is working in the orchard. As in Middlemarch he waits to be certain of her. Then there is a long kiss, again gentle, but with a hint of the passion that could be, when they are interrupted by her father.
Dangerous Beauty/Honest Courtesan: Marco returns to Venice to find Veronica’s house marked as a plague house. He doesn’t know if she is alive. He sees her and runs up the steps to her. They embrace and the kiss that follows is desperate, passionate, full of released tension and joy at their reunion, and yes, tenderness......
What can I say? I’m a sucker for gentle, tender kisses!

um, favorite kiss... that's a tough one for me. I think I have to go with IASL OR one no one has mentioned, I think--At Sachem Farm, the one I'll just call Laurie's Kiss.

Another good one is the kiss between Charles & Nell
during the weird party where I'd swear there been
some opium smoking goin' on.
Don't forget the seductive kisses given Isolde on the
wedding night.
There was another good kissing scene in Dangerous
Beauty besides the storming into her room scene. I
think it was while the lovers are at their hideaway, just
before the riders come to tell Marco they must return.
They are in the bed clowning around, and Marco has just
grabbed her arm when suddenly the smile slips from his
face and is replaced by a very serious look followed by a
passionate "I know we'll soon be parted" kiss.

My top kisses are always from DB, in order of appearance:
Most cute and tender: the first kiss on gondola after a short talk, I love Marco expression too.
Most passionate: when Marco storms into Veronica's boudior, he scoops her up and they kiss each other madly and the following scene...
Most moving: Marco returns to Venice to find Veronica’s house marked as a plague house. He sees her and runs up the steps to her. They embrace and kiss deeply.
Most desperate: when Marco come into jail to see her and they kiss through the bars of the prison, so desperately and passionately, and then he begs her confessing all that is.
