Hi, Acousticgirl - welcome to Rufusland! Apart from Rock'n'Roll, what else have you seen with Rufus in - what are your fave roles, etc? Glad to have you with us! GE2 ok, so here I go. I think I have been seeing Rufus for years in movies, but I really got hooked with Tristan and Isolde. I actually had to google the film to find out his name. Then my love of shakespeare took hold and I saw Taming of the shrew!! My fav comedy of shakespeare, and just couldn't take how great he was in that roll. Also, Kate blew me away!! I live an hour north of NYC so when I heard that he was going to be in town for a play, I had to see it. I really had no idea that you could just wait out side the theater to meet the actors like that. Well, I got there early and it was raining so I was standing in the covered alley and met uncorked. She new so much about Rufus and assured me that we could meet him..So correct! The skeptic in me was worried that he may not be nice, but of course He was great and patient. He came walking down the sidewalk and looked at me and I swear my heart stopped. Rufus is way too handsome in person, kind of overwelming. This is the best part, the way he talks to people. He really listens and pays attention, like he doesn't have a play to go do. Super cool! night night girls!

Hi Acousticgirl!!! thats great you got to meet him. Taming of the Shrew is hilarous, being a new fan on Rufus's, i hadn't really seen to much of his work, but Taming of the Shrew was one of the first ones i had to buy, and it was worth it. Such a nice pair of legs... strangely attractive!!?? lol

I really got hooked with Tristan and Isolde. LOL! That hooks a lot of people! And that one! It was "Charles II" that got me and that will forever be my favourite Rufus role. If you haven't seen it, you really do need to - all aspects of character are explored there, and he is just wonderful in it. Yup. I've met him, too, as have quite a few of us on here, and everyone says the same. I think he tries hard not to be a "celebrity" and that is why he's so natural. And definitely even more handsome in real life than in the photos or on screen!

Hi Ukelelehip,
So do you play the ukelele? I have always wanted to try that! I did really like R&R, it suprised me with some of the elements. Especially, the Esme character and her wrestling with cancer and loss of wholeness. I am more than my body... Really great stuff..You could hear a pin drop during that bit. If I ever get an opportunity to meet Mr. Stoppard, I would like to thank him for Esme. Since I am so close, I would like to see the play again. Some of the rapid fire dialogue went a bit over my head in parts, perhaps the second time I could catch it!

G'day Acousticgirl! You are so lucky to have the opportunity to just drop in to RnR if you fancy it! I think you need to see it at least twice and to do a bit of study about the period and read the play text in between! So glad you got to meet Rufus and have your picture taken too!
