I finally got round to uploading the old Cannes Film Festival 1998 interview to youtube. The quality is abysmal because it is a capture of streaming video but I haven't been able to figure out how to split or convert the original real media file. For the newbies, if you haven't seen this yet, run, don't walk!! Cannes 98, Part ICannes 98, Part II

Dear Ukelelehip...although I had a hard time hearing some of the interview( I had my speakers all the way up) I still appreciate your effort and did enjoy the videos. Rufus looked amazing as usual and his humor was charming. Thanks for the links.

Oh, Uke, what a treat to come home to - those clips were fab-u-lous!! Like Pitzel, I had to have the speakers up to the max, but it was worth it - what a great interview. Actually, it was more of a chat than an interview, and I loved the impressions! I think he's changed in the intervening years (not just in terms of age)....but I can't quite put my finger on exactly how. Thanks for this.

He looks so tired and especially fidgety, I ahve noticed that about him. Inseveral films he's always doing something with his hands, very natural not upstaging or anything like that. But in these clips he looks resigned to the fact that doing publicity is part of the job and that this aspect of the job annoys him. Great to see him though, those were the datys, counting down to when People mag names him one of the 50 most beautiful people. His days of somewhat obscurity are coming to an end. Doubtful he'll change much, he seems well grounded.

HIs sendup of his conversation with Christopher Walken had me giggling on the first segment. Got any more of those, uke?
