Yes they are...and I know first hand since that is my local CBS station and those guys are on every morning. They do think they are funny. But at least they let Rufus talk, on some interviews, they talk more than the interviewee! (That's a strange word) Rufus on my TV makes me happy no matter who he has to talk to. It's almost 8:00 pm here so only two hours to go.

The show was good. Rufus looked fantastic in HD, of course. It was hard for me to be objective about the story since I'd seen the Patrick Stewart original, so I knew the entire plot.
The relationship between Hood & his bodyguard definitely has possibilities. I look forward to the development of their characters. The little glimmers of humor were nice.
I must admit I've never been a big CSI fan (although my best friend in high school was in the pilot episode & two follow-ups - he played Paul Milander) so that's why I'm a bit wishy-washy in my review.
But Rufus was great great great!

I too watched the British Series. The Stewart/Sewell thing is not significant because casting in both series was exceptional. My concern was the US cramming an 1 1/2 hours episode into a 60 minutes with commercials. I think he is still learning who Jacob Hood is and just what he can do with developing the character and as soon as the episodes are clean US version made for a 60 minute time slot he will have full control.
I do not know if the episode was clear to other viewers because I too knew the plot. And yes, he looks fantastic in high definition.

I've read as many reviews as possible, and some were very good. Others were not.
As for the ratings, CBS won the entire evening, but Life on Mars (ABC) beat Eleventh Hour (CBS) by a small margin. Both won over ER (NBC).
From what I can gather, many did what I did - DVR'd either LOM or EH and watched the other live.

Hello everyone. I never saw the original version with Patrick Stewart, so I can be unbiased in that regard. Rufus of course was wonderful showing brilliance and quirkiness in Jacob Hood. You really wish to know more about him. The story was a bit predictable since I think I saw just about the whole thing through the various promos in the last few weeks. It was not hard to follow but it was not very smooth. It seemed to jump around with no fluidity which could be very disconcerting to those who did not know the plot. The look was bright and clinical one minute and dark and dreary the next. The best part of the hour was the scene when Rufus talks to the millionaire who is trying to have his dead son cloned. Their exchange which was changed from the promo, was very emotional, I almost started to cry. Rufus is amazing. I will continue to talk up the show and see if maybe more people will watch Rufus and TiVo "Mars".

Sharman, where did you find that link? I've been to the official site @ CBS and couldn't find it. I received notification from them that he responded, how gracious and sweet. Many thanks for the link. Did anyone catch him on Craig Ferguson? I did he barely let him talk, granted it's Craig's show but puhlease he was an invited guest he could have given him the courtesy of talking. Liked the show alot, but I think they were a little heavy with the make-up. Enjoyed his goofiness and there is chemistry of a sort with Marly Shelton. He never gives a bad performance, truly an amazing man. Both my mom and I watched and swooned over him together.

Do you suppose he ever gets tired of doing these chat shows? I mean you must get loopy after a while answering the same questions over and over. How does he not go mad? I'm sure he'd never let it show, he's such a proffessional.

, , , I finally had a chance to watch Eleventh Hour. That scene with the father was mind blowing. I forget how brilliant Rufus can be. (and how pretty )

I also recorded the show and watched this afternoon, and Rufus's brilliance and comedic timing were in full force, but there's something missing overall in the plot that makes it less than enthralling, even though the subject matter for this episode should have been really intriguing.
I agree with Maxx, the scene with the father (Gibbons) was truly genius on Rufus's part, but I don't feel the chemistry between him and Marly Shelton's character. And it's not me being jealous, it just doesn't come through.
Not Rufus's fault of course, I think the dialogue needs work and Marly needs to be either way more uptight or more laid back, she's too middle of the road. I think that's why I loved the Mulder/Scully relationship on "X-Files". Scully was so over the top anal/compulsive and Mulder was borderline nuts. I think the relationship between these two needs to be tweaked.
There, my first official rant of the year. ;D

"Sharman, where did you find that link?" Peach, if you go to the Eleventh Hour Community Message Board, directly above this title there are different sections. Go to "video" (the lower one, not the one on the main menu). It'll take you to a page that lists all the clips made for EH. The one with our questions is "You ask, they tell". And thanks for your accounts, ladies!

I've enjoyed replaying the episode to see what I'd tweak about it. I'm not a fan of CSI or anything shot with pervasively black backgrounds, so enjoyed the hotel scenes best as they were better lit and felt lighter, too. There were hints of the edge and intensity I'd rather see in Rufus' Jacob , but overall I found his character bland...the director's call, not Rufus', I'm sure.Great closeups and camera angles and I like the professional way Jacob and Marley's character interact.Fun listening for Rufus' quirky American accent. Loved the aerial shots of Seattle and Vancouver.OH, and of course, Rufus looked just fabulous in every scene.

I like it so far. I usually don't like these kinds of shows. Rufuss was good in it. I don't see the chemisty with the women FBI agent yet.
