There's been a lot of chatter about the chemistry or lack thereof between Rufus and Marly. I think they're still feeling their way around each other and testing the waters. She needs to be proffessional and curt to a point. I think the writing needs to be spruced up a bit but with less than a full hour of actual air time it's difficult. There were glimpses of silliness that we've come to love from him. His timing is impecable as usual; and in time I'm hoping the kinks will be worked out. Still I wish he were speaking in his normal voice. But he looked fantastic, although a little heavy with the makeup that goes for everyone.

I have lost track of all the nice little videos but there are some here which I dont think I have seen before - the Between Takes is nice - he likes playing Jacob Hood because he has a nice range of jackets for example There is also the first episode according to the blurb.

Thanks for the clip, Rainy - watching it and seeing scenes we've all viewed a million times - it appears they cut the bit where Rachel and the detective from Buffy the Vampire actually hook up in her room. In the original Patrick Stewart version, Rachel & the DI are in bed when the panic button goes off. They both rush down to see Ian (cum Jacob) Hood sitting casually at the bar. Don't know why they changed it, other than to leave it open that Rachel & Jacob will eventually get together. Rai

It seems to me that "Ian" knows exactly what she's doing and what he's doing. It gives great insight into their relationship and that he may not be quite the stuffed shirt he seems. I think there is a definite twinkle in "Jacob's" eye in the new version as well... interesting to watch two such different actors approach to something like this.

So has there been a second episode in US? When it is scheduled for? I managed to see the first one - not bad!

I enjoyed it, Quoll. Rachel loosened up a bit and there were several more snippets of Hood humor. I find I get a lot more upon second viewing, so I plan on rewatching it this weekend. At least one more time. ;D
It can only get better, IMO.

Good news, everybody!! Rai Ratings: 'Eleventh Hour' Up, 'Life on Mars' Down CBS scores an easy win on Thursday Rufus Sewell of ' Eleventh Hour' Fast National ratings for Thursday, Oct. 16, 2008
CBS gained the upper hand in the battle of British remakes on Thursday as "Eleventh Hour" improved on its premiere while ABC's "Life on Mars" dropped off.
CBS easily won the night with a 9.1 rating/15 share. ABC finished second at 6.9/11. NBC took third at 5.0/8. FOX managed only a 2.6/4, but that was just good enough to beat the 2.2/3 for The CW.
In the adults 18-49 demographic things were a little closer, but CBS still prevailed with a 4.2 rating. ABC, 3.7, came in second, and NBC was third at 3.4. FOX and The CW tied for fourth at 1.4.
"Survivor: Gabon" kicked things off for CBS with a 7.9/13 at 8 p.m. "Ugly Betty" delivered a 5.6/9 for ABC. NBC grabbed third with "My Name Is Earl," 4.2/7, and "Kath & Kim," 3.9/6, which fell off from its premiere last week. The CW's "Smallville," 2.5/4, beat out FOX's "Hole in the Wall" for fourth.
CBS stayed on top of the overall ratings at 9 p.m. with "CSI," 11.6/18. "Grey's Anatomy" scored a 9.6/14 for ABC and had the night's best rating among adults 18-49. "The Office," 4.8/7, and "Saturday Night Live Weekend Update Thursday," 5.3/8, kept NBC in third. FOX's "Kitchen Nightmares," 2.3/3, moved ahead of "Supernatural" on The CW.
At 10 p.m., "Eleventh Hour" drew a 7.8/13, an improvement on last week's series premiere. NBC got a 5.9/10 from "ER," while "Life on Mars" fell off from its debut and finished with a 5.6/9 for ABC.

Hah! I was literally just reading that myself, Rai! I don't entirely understand all the number-crunching there, but it's great news that EH came top. This guy compares the ratings of three remakes: EH, Life on Mars and Kath and Kim: Which means "Mars" lost nearly 3 million viewers from last week, 27% in the target demographic and nearly one and a half million viewers from its first half-hour to its second. So, yeah, "loser" does seem to fit. Given all that torturous tinkering ABC put the show through simply to get it on the air, this must be fairly devastating news.
Thursday's other new show, "Kath & Kim," lost 1.5 million viewers from its premiere, dropping it to 6 million on Thursday. Which means that of the three, we should expect only "Eleventh Hour" to be on the air at season's end. www.insidesocal.com/tv/2008/10/its-the-eleventh-hour-for-life.html

Wooo hoooo, good for Ru. I am happy for Rufus's sake (and ours), I hope the series gets a chance to highlight all of Rufus's myriad acting talents. Some cheesecake beach scenes wouldn't hurt either..

Aw, you'd think they'd at least illustrate it with photos of Rufus! Today's little snippet of news is that it's looking like maybe the original creator, Stephen Gallagher, is back on board - in some capacity at least: The beginning of last week found me in Los Angeles for not unrelated reasons... a couple of days of intensive meetings and a day at the studio, meeting the Eleventh Hour creative team and generally bonding with a whole new bunch of people. I'll write more about where that's leading when the time is right. brooligan.blogspot.com/2008/10/strange-days-indeed.htmlOh, and just a couple of comments on Episode 2: ~ I used to grow foxgloves....yikes! ~ is it wrong that I found Rufus rather......"alluring", in that bee-keeper's outfit? (The waist-high waders didn't do much for him, though!) ;D
