New year, new game! The first player nominates a date, the next player posts something that happened on that date and then nominates another date. We'd better nominate day and month only, though....including the year might makes things a bit difficult! ;D Here goes: Today is 1 January - on this date in 404, the last known gladiatorial competition in Rome took place. So what happened on 29 October? (An easy one to start )

Black Tuesday in 1929. Banks ran out of money and the stock market crashed. Much like what happened this year except now the market has enough safeguards to not crash like it did back then. (My Grandmother was also born on Black Tuesday...we liked to tease her and say she caused it...lol)

In 1689, British Parliament adopts Bill of Rights.
(Ge2, I can explain, when JFK made that speach at the Brandenberg Gate (I think that's where spoke those infamous words, he was trying to say that he was a Berliner too, but Ich Bin Ein Bernliner, translated from German means that he was actually saying that he was a jelly donut, a berliner is a sweet dessert or jelly donut) Every time I hear that I get a chuckle.
