I think this theory is reasonable,because rufus's eyes and hair is so cute and so pretty,it's must need something or some make up can cover them when he was acting a bad guy.
So,I think I can prove : big and terrible eye = bad guy
big and shining eyes = good guy
big and innocent eyes = pitiful guy
