Hi everyone! My name is Ambra and I just joined this forum today. As you've probably gathered from the title, I live in VA, near Roanoke, along the eastern edge of the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains. I work as an advanced technical support rep for dishnetwork satelite tv services so if you have dishnetwork and you call for help, you might get me on the other end. Like Rufus, I'm 41, although a few months older than he is, single, with 2 cats.
I first became aware of Rufus when I saw the first commercials for "Eleventh Hour"; the show looked interesting and I definitely wanted to find out more about the handsome actor with the dark, curly hair and intense green eyes. I've been a fan of his and the show since the premiere. I'm currently trying to acquaint myself with his other work; I just bought a copy of "Amazing Grace" which I'm going to watch tonight, and I plan on renting some of the other films he's been in.
I'm looking forward to getting to know you folks and sharing in our admiration for this gifted actor

Welcome Ambra. Please keep us posted on what you think of his work as you get to it. Also if you have any trouble finding some of his films, I am sure some of us will be able to help out.
Take care, Laura

Hi everyone! My name is Ambra I'm looking forward to getting to know you folks and sharing in our admiration for this gifted actor hello ambra! i am new here too. amazing grace is a fine movie to start with, just a great flick on its own. as a bonus, rufus does a great piece of acting there. well, another one among so many, really. will you let me - us - know what you thought of it? i really was touched by the subject matter of this film. the cast was mighty fine if you ask me - albert finney too!!! my albert!!! well, if EH will have had the only good point of bringing more movie lovers to see the light about mr. s.' talent, it had been worth all the lousy dialogues and faulty story lines. i discovered rufus through EH too, so i will always be fond of that show!! looking forward to chatting with you!

Welcome Ambra! You've the name of my 22 years old daughter. Here in Italy it isn't a common name, and there in US? You will find a lot of stuff about the amazing actor Rufus and will discover his talent more and more, and then, you'll love him forever.

No, the name isn't common in the US either. I was named after my paternal grandmother who died shortly after giving birth to my dad and her own mom couldn't remember exactly where she got the name. I stayed up until 6:30am watching "Amazing Grace" and the special features. I haven't checked yet but if there is a thread for the movie I'll post what I thought there but the fact that I was up that late should speak for itself!

Welcome, Ambra.
Amazing Grace is the film that brought Rufus to my attention, although I'd seen Knight Story a year earlier. What a contrast in characters...such a chameleon, as you'll have the pleasure of discovering .

Hello and welcome Ambra I am a fellow American...live in your sister state of Maryland, near Annapolis and the Chesapeake Bay. I've been to Roanoke once quite a while ago. There is a military base there am I right? I hope you enjoy all of Rufus' movies as much as most of us do. Amazing Grace was good but my favorite is "Charles II". He plays him so believably, you really feel you know the King intimately. Plus you have the advantage of watching him in almost every scene! You must try to rent it soon. I first noticed Rufus in "Tristan and Isolde" I thought " who was that actor who played the king" so I googled his name and have been a member here ever since. Can't think of a better way to spend a cold winter's night than watching Rufus on film. Have fun and stay warm. Pitzel

There are a few in the Tidewater area which is where I grew up. I'll have to see if I can find "Charles II"; the video rental places around here don't have the best variety but I'll check the libraries and maybe check out Barnes and Noble to see if I can get a copy there. Thanks for the recommendation!

Welcome Ambra, Another great DVD is Rufus as Petruchio in the Taming of the Shrew - one of my personal favourites and like Pitzel, Charles II is definitely another must see. Enjoy discovering Rufus Ruthie

Ambra,
See if you can get the four-hour version of Charles II - the US cut, The Last King, is one hour less....but on the other hand there are some scenes in that that weren't in the original (go figure).
It is an absolute MUST, whichever version you get.
Watching it is what hooked me! ;D

Hi Ambra, Welcome!! I am relatively new to the forum as well. I discovered Rufus and Eleventh Hour in October when I saw an ad for Eleventh Hour by a train station near NYC. I found the ad interesting due to my love of science and a found Rufus's face interesting as well (lol)!
Since October, I have watched EH every week (rerun or not) and have even encouraged friends to watch as well (who continue to watch).
I will admit to managing to acquire a good number of movies with Rufus and have enjoyed all of them and have seen others on my cable system. There were two movies that I already owned (Knights Tale and Amazing Grace) prior to then though.
Enjoy this forum, the people associated with it are a wonderful group of people!!
Again, welcome!!

I think I may be able to categorize myself as seriously infatuated now. I'm at work and CBS is on the tv closest to me. So far, they've shown two commercials for this week's episode of EH and I couldn't stop myself from watching them! Luckily, I'm good at multi-tasking so I was able to handle the customers at the same time.
