Ok...sometime in the very near future, I will be catching up with our dear Ru and his work. So I am going to ask for recomendations from everyone here.
So far the movies I have seen of his are...
Dark City A Knights Tale Tristan and Isolde John Adams The Honest Courtesan (many years ago...will probably rent again if I can find it.) Paris, je t aime
So I would like 3 choices each from everyone...that I havn't seen yet and that are likely available at the video store. Or for cheap on Ebay...
The three that seem to recur the most I will go and get....for now. I'm short on money so I have to space everything out a bit.
Thanks!!!

Taming of the Shrew Charles II
Nope, cant keep it to 3! IASL, Uncorked and Amazing Grace are all wonderful. I guess if we take Charles as your history piece then that rules out AG, TOTS as the comedy piece then that rules out Uncorked - so for variety go with In a Savage Land for the third.
Oh and Middlemarch is good even if there is a lot of non Rufus blather. Oh yes and the Woodlanders is pretty special too.
Ebay is your friend - along with a zone free dvd player:-)

Here are my 3, in no particular order:
Taming of the Shrew
The Woodlanders
A Knight's Tale (no, not his best work, but one of my all-time favorite movies anyway. The cast was superb, especially the late, great Heath Ledger, and Paul Bettany).

I can only recommend "Amazing Grace" since it's the only movie I've seen of his so far. I plan on getting "Charles II" and "Helen of Troy" from amazon this week.

Taming of the Shrew Charles II
I have to see the others yet, like Uncorked, In a savage land .... I like his performance, and the movie as well, in The Illusionist, short but amazing.

I never figured her for a romantic lead. The only thing I ever saw her in was "Bridget Jones's Diary". I loved her in that one...of course my favorite was Shazzer...but I digress. lol. I loved the elevator scene and the line where Petruchio says he's gonna rip her knickers off...lol

this little woman made me laugh my head off in TOTS, and then she made me cry like a baby in charles II. note to self: must talk to peach about signing her to our dream cast agency.
i was amazed at how ru-ru was a natural as a comic actor. he really must be a riot at parties. i mean, there is no effort there, it just comes out funny. "i am going to sleep, and then i'm gonna rip your knickers off." and out he goes.
i just loved the scene in kate's office, when he comes to take her to her sister's wedding, how the lines straight from shakespeare just blended in the script without any trouble. that was one funny scene.
i just saw illuminata yesterday, so its 3 comic roles i saw him at so far. i wonder how no director saw how funny he his. too subtle, perhaps?
