I'm sure it does take a lot of strength to turn things down when you don't know if something else will come up. And it's probably unfair of me to judge her based on the four or five things I've seen her in, if she's being typecast. But from what I've seen, she doesn't have a lot of range. Rufus, even his typecast roles, always seems to bring something extra, so that you know that he is capable of more. Look at his "stock villains" such as Adhemar or Jasper, who he makes three-dimensional. (An exception for me is the guy in Zorro, who I thought was pretty cartoonlike despite Rufus's talents.) JMHO.
