Tipou! Beautiful work you've done! I decided today to post in the personal MySpace page (www.myspace.com/benedictine_marians) my art as well as photos I took in Costa Rica in the 80's. I also added an album of friends and family and a couple more of me in the one you might have seen already. Updated my profile in the About Me section too. RE: Photography- I don't have a scanner so I took photos of photos. LOL.

There is a story behind the landslide photos: Basically I was on a train- caboose car in the rainforest and almost in jungle when the train stopped in the middle of nowhere. We were all wondering "What the f**k?!" It had been raining as it usually does there in August during afternoon hours and it still was. The tour guide came around and told us a slide came down in front of the train and that we would be just a little while before they dig off the tracks. Then, they started backing up the train when all of a sudden the brakes went on. I heard a sound like thunder, grabbed my camera and ran to the very back at the outside railing while the slide was coming down only a few yards away! Yep- I'm a nutter!

Thanks again for the welcomes everyone! And yippee- catdishy is from Vancouver too! How cool! Nope- didn't see Mr Sewell on Robson as I don't go downtown very often- rarely actually. I'm in the Fairview District past Cambie Bridge however.

Meeting him would be awesome- that's for sure!--- but only if we could have time to actually have coffee or drinks and talk like "normal" people. I'm not into the whole starstruck- act like an idiot- ask for an autograph- drool on his shoes- trip or faint and fall on my face- thing and I appreciate that he seems to have a down-to-earth air about him when I see him being interviewed by media. Not into name-dropping but I am accustomed to meeting celebrities anyway and they are just like anyone else. Plus, one of my dear friends is married to a famous tv and movie actor, so my conversations with her tend to deal with what they have both been up to besides our typical girl talk stuff The entertainment industry for me is just a normal thing in general although in my case moreso the music business.

It's cool to be here though and I don't think I will be disappearing anytime soon! And I would be lying if I said I don't practically drool over Mr. Sewell, but mostly I'm just powerfully drawn to him and I hope that if I ever do meet him that I wouldn't be unbecoming. LOL- Well, after all- I'm a girl and I get nervous over handsome boys no matter who they might be!

... OMG- I am still listening to Epochate on their MySpace page- new band and ! It really is epoch! I pre-ordered their cd and I can hardly wait. I play the four songs they posted over and over again. I'm totally lost in it. Good thing I don't have loud speakers going or I'd drive my neighbours loony!

i for one am starstruck silly over about anyone i admire. damn! i am startstruck over my bf, even over my brother! i often tend to put people on pedestals, which is not necessarily a good thing.

famous people are famous, but they are also people. my only experiences is with locally famous people from quebec, and with a very few exceptions, you couldn't be more "regular folks" than these folks, which make me admire them the most, hence, even more starstruck.

i have a friend whose brother works in the movie industry. once, many years ago, she had to do him "a favour", and spend some time at the airport with daivd niven, because she was the only person available speaking english while his flight to europe had been delayed. she spent about one hour with him at the bar, hearing the most incredible stories about wartime, and about his movies. she said he was the most adorable gentleman ever, and he even had flowers delivered to her the following day because she had "lost an hour to charitably converse with an old man".

this is what "stars" are supposed to be. they truly shine.

p.s. thanks for the link to epochate, i think they shold defintely write music for movies. "introspection" i would like to hear without the lyrics, great evocative mood.

Tipou: ! Mr Niven sounds like a very nice man! How sweet of him to send flowers! I wish someone would send me flowers! Geez louise, 99% of dates I've had in my life have not even brought me flowers let alone send them! And that nice man sent flowers just for spending time with him talking? ! That's something special!

You're welcome for the Epochate link! Aren't they fabulous? They are Victor Love of Dope Stars Inc. and Noras Blake from Spineflesh. Anything Vic does blows my mind. He's brilliant. And he's a nice guy too! I agree- movie soundtrack material without Vic's vocals. His arrangements are breathtaking in themselves and I was thinking the same thing about soundtracks. Dope Stars Inc did make it into music from the SAW movies though.

RANT WARNING:

The whole flowers thing.... I am so fed up with men in general. Grrr... argh. What ever happened to real gentlemen? ... MySpace messages from strangers saying "Hi Sweetie" or "Hi Gorgeous" - I get those everyday.... or dealing with guys trying to pick me up in bars. I don't even go to bars anymore. Men just look at me and want to get bonking. It's like "Helloooooo! I'm an intelligent woman- not an object!" I imagine it must be like that for good looking celebrities- gettting objectified and dehumanized. I really feel for them.

Girls, I gotta tell you all something. When I was living in Los Angeles for awhile, I finally said- screw this crap. Some guy was trying to pick me up in bar and coming on really strong and refusing to take "no" for an answer. So, I said... "Did you know that eyeballs pop out just like grapes, that it takes only 9 pounds of pressure to remove ears and that I can rip your nuts out where you stand?" (I used to take Martial Arts under Masters of various discplines - thus the accurate information). That has become my favourite line- just in case I ever go to a bar again. Try it- It works! Of course, the whole idea is to talk calmly and normally and with a straight face as though you're talking about the weather and look them in the eyes. Needless to say: If a guy refuses to take no for an answer, I better be interested at some point.
