The show will run eventually. If you haven't bought a plane ticket you can always rebook later because they will refund the money on the theatre tickets. In fact you can change the plane ticket if needs be.
Is anyone but me, going to NY next weekend? If not, don't worry. The last strike lasted 4 days. I doubt this one will last any longer, IF it even happens. Let's not get the cart before the horse, here.

I don't think we have to worry about the stagehands dispute affecting RnR - according to this piece - mentioned earlier by etherealtb - www.npr.org/templates/story/story.php?storyId=15143648&ft=1&f=1001 "A shutdown would affect most commercial Broadway productions but not those produced by such nonprofit organizations as the Roundabout Theatre Company, Manhattan Theatre Club and Lincoln Center Theater." From IBDb (Internet Broadway Database) Rock 'n' Roll - "Produced in association with Lincoln Center Theater (André Bishop: Artistic Director; Bernard Gersten: Executive Producer)" So there you go. It's a Lincoln Center Theatre production - Yay!!! G xo

Um, but isn't the Jacobs a Shubert theatre? The Shuberts are part of the league...
but I still don't think this is going to affect anyone much on this board. So I think people are getting upset over nothing.

Just as a sort of FYI, after a bit more saber rattling this morning the League and the Union went back to the bargaining table to talk.

Just an FYI - I have been getting anxious and fishing around. According to the League of American Theaters and Producers, Inc. (www.livebroadway.com) the Stagehands Union will take a strike vote on Sunday, October 21st.

They would lose a lot of leverage. That's why the League has been threatening to lock them out so it's resolved by then. But I guess we'll see what we see.

I'm excited for you, Uke! Having seen it 7 times, I'm dying to know how different this production will be. New actors for sure. New set? New wigs? New costumes? Any dialogue altered for an American audience? So I will be expecting a full report IN DETAIL, double-spaced. Rai
