Hi, I'm fairly new, been on here a few weeks now. My first "notice" of Rufus was as King Charles - then I backtracked to his various other films (Dangerous Beauty, etc.), and I've been a regular weekly fan of EH since it's inception. And I'm a VERY appreciative female!
In my humble opinion, there's so very little "good" TV these days (I am NOT a "fan" of reality TV). But I do watch the CSI's (wish they'd delve more into the romances) and EH. I particularly liked Subway and Madea - where we got to see more "caring" on the part of Dr. Hood - especially FOR his "minder", Rachel.
I find myself reading more and more. Love historical biographies AND historical romances - particularly romances set in Britain during the early 1800's. Favorite author is Stephanie Laurens -GAWD can that woman write a love/sex scene - anyway, getting back to my point. WHY aren't the powers that be in the entertainment industry giving us women more of what we LONG for? MORE "love stories"?
Ms. Laurens has several "series" going - my favorites are the Cynster novels and the Bastion Club novels (occasionally some of the characters will cross over into the other series). And I HAVE to tell you - there's a part in the Bastion Club novels that would be PERFECT for Rufus Sewell.
Picture it! For 16 years, he's been going by the name Dalziel, the mysterious and dangerous head of Whitehall, Britain's spy agency, who recruited several prominent young noblemen of the ton to infiltrate parts of France which led to Waterloo. After the war 6 of some of these men returned home to form the Bastion Club - to shield them from the matchmaking mommas - so they can choose their OWN brides. One by one (individual novels deal with each man and their romance) they find the woman of their dreams and set out to convince their "independent" choice to marry (I just love love stories where the guy has to "chase" or "court" the female LOL). And during those love stories they've each wound up in a mystery - and they've had to go for help to that mysterious and dangerous man at Whitehall (so he's in ALL the Bastion Club novels). After the 6th member of the Bastion Club married his love, at the end of that novel, Dalziel, (at 38) retired, and he's now Royce Varisey, and on his way home and back to his real life as the Duke of Wolverstone (his novel will be coming out in July - and THIS is the novel EVERYONE who is a fan of Ms. Laurens's writing has been waiting so long for, and she posted the VERY first chapter of the book on her website this month. AND I STILL think Rufus Sewell should play that part someday! That first chapter contains the moment he meets HIS "Waterloo"! (If you'd like to know more - just ask LOL) And I can't wait for the WHOLE book in July LOL!
Really wish we'd get more love stories! Do you?
So what role would YOU love to see Rufus Sewell do?
