Hi, gang! You may or may not have noticed that the banner at the top of the Home page has undergone a make-over and now has all the latest news/gossip - since I'm around more than her, Uke has kindly let me loose on updating it! If you hadn't even noticed we HAD a news banner (  , !), I'm putting breaking news and important dates up there, in case anyone misses the relevant thread. What I'd like to know is if anyone does actually read it? Is there anything about the look of it you'd like me to change? No colours? Smaller text? I really would like to know your views, please. While I'm interrogating you, can I ask another question - from the home page, do you tend to click on the link for a particular thread and go straight to it, or do you open one of the sections first and then pick a thread from there? I only ask because if you do the former, you could be missing out on all sorts of news and pics....  Thanks, people!  |

i noticed, i read, i click, and i appreciate very much.
changing the colors helped a lot - doing it from time to time might do the trick. any way to vary background colour, to make it stand out once in a while?
i do the former, and recently realize i miss all the fun. and that explains why (maybe) some new sections have gone totally unnoticed, or fell into utter oblivion...

I have been noticing the news updates and appreciating them very much! Thank you. The current format is just fine as far as I'm concerned, but if you added pictures of dripping wet and unshaven Rufus to the banner, I bet others would notice it much more quickly. As for my clicking habits, I also tend to go first to the latest posts shown by clicking directly on them. Then I try to go back into the sections, because I know there's other new stuff in there, but sometimes I forget to check and it's a few days before I see something. That's the price I pay for being disorganized, I guess. |

Thanks for your feedback, Tip and Rueful - I now know at least two people read the banner! ;D Unfortunately, unlike when starting a thread or replying, I don't have access to all the little tags and smilies on the news fader page, so have to remember the codes for bold type, colours, etc. I don't think I can do anything about the background colour. But pics? Haven't tried.....yet. I suppose it might work with thumbnails. I'll give it a go at some point. I make no promises about a dripping wet and unshaven Rufus, though! Thanks, ladies! |

I read it and I think it's GREAT. It really pops out. Love the size of the text. I'm not sure about pictures as mentioned in posts here, unless they're really small, I guess. The former. Guilty! |

I read the news banner and find it especially helpful. Especially since I am new and have SO MUCH information and goodies to peruse through...

I think that the banner is a great idea. It allows us to see what the "newest" news is. My clicking habits are similar to rueful's. I'll go to the sections with the most recent posts. If I noticed something I missed on a thread within that section, I'll try to remember to go back and check it out. Sometimes I actually have to make a list of what to go back and review. There is so much happening on this board on some days we Rufus fans need to be organized...ha, ha, ha !!!!!!!!
And thank, you GE2, and all the moderators for all of the work you to keep us updated on our fabulous Rufus !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I too read the banner, and perhaps a few pics of our green eyed wonder would help just a little bit. Color is fine as well, GE2 thanks for all of your hard work. When I come to the board I usually go right down the line and check out each thread, sometimes I explore older threads and re-read old posts.

Thank you, everyone, for your feedback - and I wasn't soliciting the thanks, but do appreciate your comments!  I've been able to put up a photo from the latest event (The Supper Club) but it does distort the banner, so if that causes problems I might have to remove it. |
