Just as it should be! Thanks - I'm convinced. Then it must be that Billy has exquisite taste in gifts for his Daddy.

Famke, Great find and good detective work !!!!!!!!!!!!! And I think what peach discovered from her jeweler friend was interesting. When I go to the mall this weekend, I'm going to stop in a high-end jewelry store and ask about the pearl on a cord for men being as peach put it, " the hottest craze for men". I'll post the feed back I get and let you all know if it's "hot" here in San Diego and on the West Coast as well as in NY (where peach is). It should be as Ruf has been in L.A. for some time lately.

Gabrielle, Well, I checked at the Royal Maui Jewelers in our mall about the pearl on a "cord" for men...yes, they verified peach's findings. The woman told me they were sold out of the Tahitian pearls on a leather cord. Now they are selling the leather cord with a diamond studded cross. It was beautiful. I checked with Tiffany's about the leather cord with the pearl, but the gentleman I spoke with knew nothing about them. Interesting ??

I found one site in CA, San Fran to be exact and purchased one, it's a black Tahitian 13.5mm on a black leather cord with sterling lobster claw closure. Came with an appraisal. Knowing jewelry ( I make and sell) the pearl is decent quality with a couple of marks on it but the price was good, they were selling out of the white, and golden and the black in the larger sizes. I don't have the sales lip any longer, but I do remember googling "south sea pearls on leather cords" got several hits. WIll try to find the name, I have the appraisal around. Good luck shopping.

To hell with the necklace I have this uncontrollable urge to find out exactly what is under those clothes. I very close inspection might reveal what is on the necklace. Oh well it is definitely bed time or cold shower time!!!

Just a word to the wise, Tiffany is way overpriced for what they offer. Sometimes you can find loose pearls but if you go that route make sure that they are drilled through. Some are only half drilled. You can buy leather cording at any arts and crafts stores like Michaels, and make a slip knot or double knot to close, and you don't have to buy Tahitian, cultured fresh water are nice too and much cheaper.

I never noticed it, I was too busy adoring his face. LOL He did play a pearl diver and trader in "Savage Land", wonder if he bought it during that movie?
