Kygal, yep, one of the things that attracted her to this place was the benefits. I'm glad to say that one of the ones that impressed her most are our retirement benefits - glad she's already looking long-term! The hours are more dependable. At the bank, even though she was done at 5 she couldn't leave until EVERYONE was ready to leave, a safety precaution but one that irked her no end.
Looking forward to the long weekend myself. But daughter and I are mall-bound. There are some great sales and we're looking for some new summer clothes.

The shopping trip was successful. Daughter and I each got 3 new tops and I also got a new pair of sandals. The sandals may have to go back - the strap on the left has a rough spot underneath and it scraped the skin off the top of my foot! This is why you should always try on both shoes, not just the right one.
Husband and I are heading to Wisconsin next week to check in on his sister. One thing that has me worried is that husband is talking about "helping" his sister clean out her house. I'm not sure if this is his sister's idea or his other two sisters idea. I keep telling his we need to go slow on this as we don't want to add to his sister's stress. She getting chemo and radiation treatment simultaneously which is rough. She doesn't need anything more to deal with right now.

Enjoy your trip and quality time with your SIL. Hope she is doing well.
Is it Friday yet? This short week seems long.

Amen on this week seeming so long even though it was only a 4 day week. What made it even more miserable at work is that the AC was on the fritz. When we got in to work on Tuesday morning it was 79 degrees and the humidity was 60%. Supposedly a fan is broken and they have to wait for a part.

We're heading out to Wisconsin in the morning to spend some time with SIL. I'm hoping the visit will go well. I just have to keep reminding husband that we're there to be of help to SIL, to to add to her stress.

Have a lovely weekend everyone! Enjoy your trip with SiL Rachel, and hope the weeks will go by quickly Kygal!
We´ve got Monday off too, so more fun, as the weather is warmer (May was very rainy).

The trip to Wisconsin was rough. My SIL was pretty depressed and her attitude toward her treatments was bad. Her doctor told her that with chemo she would have a 50/50 chance. Her response was to not undergo treatment since it might not work. I think husband was good for her, got her feeling more optimistic. She finishes radiation this week. They will give her a couple weeks off and then start chemo in mid-July. We won't know the results for 4 months.
My boss blew up the workplace again. On Thursday he tells me that two of my colleagues are being pulled from teaching and am I willing to teach an extra section. On Friday he hightailed it out of town and has the associate dean deliver the bad news. The worst part is no one will be honest and straightforward with them about the reasons for this action. As you can imagine morale is in the pits.
Very happy that we're going to the beach next week. I need the break.

Oh gosh Rachel. Sounds like you do need a beach trip. Glad your hubby was able to give support to his sister. Difficult decisions on treatment. Sometimes quality is better than quantity. Difficult (to say the least) for all involved.
We are leaving after my daughter gets off work tomorrow for our beach trip to South Carolina. I just worked one day this week and wont return until July 2. Our son has a new job with Toyota so he will stay home and take care of Lucy and turtle. Cant wait!
