Ruthie, you've done us proud!!!! What fantastic photos and a great story you have to tell now - maybe Rufus will pop into your restaurant soon and you'll be like old buddies. (BTW, i'm still insanely jealous ) While i'm here, i just wanted to give Dreamer and Ofelia my take on the question that Frannie asked yesterday about you two being Italian/Spanish respectively and whether you understood posts "of a dubious nature" (i'm pretty sure they were the words she used). Now i'm fairly sure that what she was asking, was whether you guys - not being native english speakers - understood some of the stuff that WE (the native english speakers) post on the board. Some of it is pretty silly sometimes and almost written in code, and i think she was just just wondering if you coped with our babble!!!! She hasn't been on since you asked the question, but i think she'd be mortified to find out that you thought she was questioning what you have posted. I honestly don't think that was what she meant at all. Just shows that english is a tricky language and the written word is so easily mis-understood sometimes (even by us who speak it every day!!!!)

Ofelia and Glo As Kerry said.I am mortified to think that my joky Question should make you think I was criticising you in any way . What I was trying to ask politely was" Do you understand the dirty sexy remarks that are made ". Hope you do because they are great fun . I think it is great that you can join .I certainly could 't join a forum in another language . well done both of you . please , don't take anything I say too seriously,I am quite crazy.
except this I am truly sorry if I hurt or offended either you

Don't worry Frannie, I'm crazy too, and not "quite"! ;D Did you hear what kind of question I asked Rufus last night? I just wondered whether my English was so bad that I could have written something filthy without I realized it. And yes, I got your dirty sexy remarks, those one we use are quite alike.

Dreamer , Yes I did hear your question( couldn't hear what Roofie said though )and no, your English was absolutely perfect. It had suddenly occurred to me that you were an Italian National and not an English ex-pat living in Rome . slow on the uptake that's me

Ruthie-Manuela (and your friend) thank you so much for your report and pictures. I can believe you had no sleep afterwards!!!! (and me too, I'm so jelaous at this moment ) Thank you again for sharing it with us... if he ever visits the restaurant... please, please tell us! (BTW... rai is right... you both look beautiful) Don't worry Frannie, it didn't offend me at all. First I thought you were asking if us, as not english-native speakers understood the dubious remarks in some posts (that was in fact the question, wasn't it?). Then with glo's post I thought (as her) that maybe I had said something filthy without noticing... well, now I know that I can use that as an excuse if at any moment someone says I'm not the innocent fangirl I really am... ;D In spanish too

Now i have to admit that i'm not much of a fashionista - as long as the sun's out i'm in shorts & thongs (and if it's not out i'm in jeans & thongs!!!!). And i know that London is a fashion capital, and it does get nippy, but what's this flouncy scarf for men thing that's going on? I just can't help thinking that the real men of the world (like Rufus!!!) are going to look back on this one day and say - what WAS i thinking wearing that frilly scarf? ? And i understand that Rufus is not alone in the scarf wearing - and in the funny button up to the neck jacket thing either because that outfit that he was wearing in Manuela's photos struck a chord with me until i remembered where i'd seen it before - check out this pic of Damian Lewis & Helen McCrory at the Harry Potter premiere in July: Now either he's overdressed - or she must be freezing her ass off in the name of fashion!!!!

Numbat, I know we didn't have a great summer this year in England but for Damian Lewis to be wearing a scarf in July has got to be a fashion statement rather than him being cold! As for Rufus, we put it down to the fact that he has returned from Hungary, where like most of Europe, has been experiencing high temperatures and probably found it a bit chilly in the UK - that's why when we had the photo taken it was only right that we got up close, so that he wouldn't feel the cold!
