Was wondering where the username came from. Does anyone else know any more details as to why he was called this?

His brother's to blame. Rufus was a fan of David Bowie, known as the Thin White Duke, but because Rufus was on the pudgy side then, Caspar called him the Fat White Duke. So the story goes....

Has anyone verified if it's really him? I don't want to sign up for twitter if someone can post the tweets here.(Is it legal to do that?). I just want to hear the latest news, not interested in contacting him. Has anyone else signed up?

I've joined twitter, but I'm not following him, you can join and still see what he writes, without him knowing your following him . I'm sure having too many followers will put him off tweeting.

You actually don't have to join Twitter to read FatWhiteDuke's Twitters. Just add this URL to your favorites and there you go: twitter.com/fatwhiteduke Now, if he'll just Tweet something!

Thank You ! Thank You!, judypatooty. I'm still learning how to use facebook and am not up on the Twitter stuff. I know we will all be checking this all day to see if he tweeted something. It's so exciting to think we can actually see messages from him.

Just checked twitter and looks like he must have finished filming now as he has put "beard gone", so hopefully he will be back in the UK soon and pick up his card from his agents.

Stephen Fry can babble on as much as he likes about freakin' darts (good god - i'm thinking of unfollowing him!!!) but Rufus knows what we want - and can say it in two words ;D
Now, i only have to wait one more week for M(o)B to shave his terrible facial hair off and (my) world will be at rights once more. Do they have "MOvember" in any other countries??? Every November, men around Australia grow moustaches (which we of course abbreviate to "mo" ie, MOvember") supposedly to raise funds and awareness for prostate cancer. The women of Australia know however, it is just an excuse to walk around looking like a porn star (which of course they all fancy themselves as!!!). I told M(o)B that if he HAD to do it, that he had to have a full beard and not just the terrible mo, because he looks even worse that Rufus did with his porn star!!! As a result, i have had to put up with kissing my old Grandad for the past month (i tried to pretend it was Rufus, but i think it would have been like kissing your old Grandad even if it WAS really Rufus).
Have now decided that Isolde chose Tristan because she couldn't stand having to kiss Marke with his permanent half grown beard. It might look sexy but in reality it sux big-time!!!
Now please, please, please somebody, get a photo of our beautiful clean shaven Rufus!!! Then i can imagine running my hands over a clean, smooth face again (instead of the horrible hairy one i have to touch in reality!!!). Roll on December 1st.

Tell us how you really feel, Numbat! I don't know about any other country but I've never heard of Movember here in the States. I can imagine it leads to some atrocious looking facial hair! I'm with you in hoping for a photo of the newly-clean-shaven Rufus very soon!

Oh, FOR SHAME, numbat! Likening Rufus to a grandpa! You've come darn close to having your ruflicense revoked. Personally, I LOVE the stubble (and even the full beard, but the stubble is better), and if he lets it grow out a bit after the shave, I'll gladly volunteer to rub my hands all over it for him if his chin is ever itchy. But in a totally nonthreatening, nonstalkerish way.
