If he had been going to appear on Valentines Day I would have been seriously miffed - I leave Aus on that day and had I known he would be on stage somewhere I could easily have bought a slightly different date. Just as well then, huh. Not sure I can make it in July though that would be rather extravagant!

That should be a lovely performance Maz, Rufus or no. Still, I hope he is able to be there for your and the audience's sake. He really seems to put a lot of heart into everything he does. So great that he is open and interested in doing diverse things. Keeps his artistic juices flowing I'm sure--and it's fun for his fans to see him perform in different elements. Funny, but in recent weeks I saw a movie about Chopin and George Sand. , talk about a drama-filled relationship. Sand definitely hunted him down, with her poor emotionally scarred kids in tow, and Chopin came off in the movie as an insufferable egomaniac (alas, like many great artists). If memory serves, Chopin ended up with Sand's own daughter in the end! I always find the backstory of great artists intriguing, and love to read biographys in general. It often can lead to a deeper understanding and appreciation of a piece of art for me. For some people though, that's definitely not the case, and they would rather approach art only at face value, with no preconceptions or background information. However you like your "tea" Maz, enjoy the evening, but I can't help but hope for your sake it does include Rufus!!

I'm curious. What happens if he's not available? Does the part just go to Guy Henry? Can you get your money back? It seems expensive for two actors to research for the same part.

(Sorry, maz. That should be "rehearse for the same part", not "research"!)
