Quote"but I DEFY any one to see Gia, Girl Interrupted, and even The Bone Collector, and to tell me to my face that there is not a good actress in there" I am ready to tell you, Tipou to your face that AJ is not a good actress , in fact I would say she is a graduate of that well known Academy of Wood, Stone and Silicone. Totally expressionless.!! I would even go so far as to say if she had any more siilcone in her lips. she would look as though she were related to Donald Duck.

Hey Tipou I hope I didn't offend with my AJ comment Rufus will of course improve the movie hugely and having Johnny Depp in the line up can't do any harm now can it . ah no, i dont get offended by comments about AJ. she has money, fame, and brad pitt, so she can defend herself. so dont worry!!! mr. and mrs. smith was the most boring "action" movie ever made, so i would not blame you. anyway, even rueful's comments about canucks cant offend me - just because she is such a sport when i offend her back - miss you rueful!!!! QUICK! someone give a hot cup of camomille to frannie!!!

I hate to say this but I think our darling Rufus is most probably cold blooded killer who ends up killed. But I still believe good things come in samll packages and this will help him whether we klike Angelina Jolie or not get in front of the US audiences. Any means to an end my lovelies.

Tipou If you object to the blue pants maybe we should get him to remove them I don't mind what he wears, he'd look good in a pair of wellies and knotted hanky on his head - although not suggesting a change of style here ;D Just as long as he dosn't get to die, or lose a leg or anything. I can't be showing myself up sobbing loudley in the Cinema !!

I think he looks absolutely beautiful in that blue!
Seeing as his role is "small but cool", we can probably assume it's not the "former lover turned criminal" that she is trying to track down. I think he looks like one of her intelligence contacts and under no circumstances will he be killed off!!!
It would be interesting though if he was enticed back into playing a bad guy again, given the number of those roles that he must reject. As he said about the Illusionist, if he wanted to be in the movie he had to play the bad guy because that's what he was offered. The amount of stuff you read in blogs and on twitter about him being "that english actor who plays the bad guys" is astounding! Most of the great unwashed out there (particularly from outside the UK) still seem to see him that way.

I would even go so far as to say if she had any more siilcone in her lips. she would look as though she were related to Donald Duck. Only for love of the truth, AJ has those lips from birth, being the daughter of Jon Voight who even has big lips her mom and her brother too:

Hey, Tipou, miss you too! But how did I get dragged into this argument? I haven't said a word about AJ. It's just like you aggressive, argumentative Canadians to start a fight where none exists. I don't blame her for the media overexposure--no doubt that is not her choice. I can't even blame her for accepting every single female lead role in the movies over the last few years, since she is smart to strike while the iron is hot, before the powers that be in Hollywood inevitably crown their new queen. I do think she is overrated as an actress. She certainly has talent, but she is not the chameleon that, for example, Rufus is. Her currently popularity has a lot to do with other qualities she possesses. But even if she were the female equivalent of James Franco (which she clearly is not), I would still be THRILLED to have Rufus get a "cool" role in a high profile movie like this. PS Nell and Numbat are right, Rufus looks fantastic in blue!

PS Nell and Numbat are right, Rufus looks fantastic in blue! then i stand defeated in all counts, and will be pouting in the corner. agressive canadians? really? oh - you mean the MOOSE! yeah, i know, its all this toundra salad eating that is making him angrier and angrier. regarding rufus looking good in just about anything, and just to gauge my current opinions about male fashion, would you like to see rufus wearing the norvegian curling teams' argyle pants? sports.yahoo.com/olympics/vancouver/blog/fourth_place_medal/post/Remarkable-Swag-Norway-s-argyle-curling-pants?urn=oly,219748 as for a.j., i never said she was the best actress ever - she is not. but i simply think she is not the worst either. there are enough "starlets of the week" to fill that spot. at least, i agree with all of you on one issue: CANT WAIT TO SEE RUFUS ONSCREEN!!!

Tipou I think Rufus could pull it off in those trousers. I'd rather he pulled them off though. ;D

Those pants are terrible!! Not just the pattern - they're just not tight enough. Surely the only upside of winter olympics are the skin tight suits!!!
And no, there is no comparison between those stupid pants and the blue suit!
The blue suit is gorgeous (and so are those fantastic shoes!) ;D

I actually think whatever the ultimate role in Tourist, exposure in the US is good and I do not necessarily think he is bad guy. A cold blooded assassin does not mean he works for "bad guys". Any way I agree blue his color but I also like the less dressed aspect as well.

I agree that being a cold blooded assassin doesn't mean that he works for bad guys. He can be a cold blooded assassin that works for the good guys. But either way, if the role is of a cold blooded assassin then surely he is inherently a "bad guy" regardless of who he works for! I also agree that Rufus is going to get fantastic exposure from this movie. I just tend to think that the exposure will be better for his long term goals (what we know of them anyway), if he isn't a cold blooded assassin. Given that he is so particular about the roles he takes on now because of the typecasting issue, i'm going with my gut feeling that the "small but cool" role is more likely to be that of an intelligence operative than a cold blooded assassin. It's great for him to be in a movie like this, but who are we to know whether he rejects a hundred roles in hollywood movies because they want him to play roles that he no longer wants to take on. I would also question whether exposure in the US really is the be all and end all to him (given that most of his really good work in the past has been in the UK & Europe, TPOTE is in the pipeline & Aurelio Zen on the horizon). Only he knows the answer to that i guess, but it's an interesting dilemma in the life of a British actor isn't it? I may be completely wrong (as i often am!), but either way i can't wait to see this on the big screen!
