The little clips we've seen of Rufus lead us to believe he's some kind of contact man or spy-type man trailing Angie's character... and more than once I've thought that would be the perfect cover for him to be the man Angie is "making" Depp's character impersonate, without his knowledge, at first anyway. Rufus appears to be a playing a low- level operative, but will he turn out in the end to be "The Man", you know, the thief or whatever they are searching for, only he now has a new face or something? And what a beautiful face at that. And my compliments to the plastic surgeon for his amazing creation, but really, if he wanted him to be incognito he should not have gone for drop-dead handsome. Well, that's my off the cuff guess, or should I say my little hope, pertaining to Rufus' role. Can't wait to see the movie and find out who his MacGuffin is after all!!!

Francesca, I absolutely agree with you on your characterisation (what a difficult word!) of the roles of "The Tourist"! If it were not for Rufus, I'd hardly have any interest in that film.

Hey rufluvr, I think you are close. I heard the movie is a remake of a foreign film called Anthony Zimmer, here is the link on IMDb: www.imdb.com/title/tt0411118/I've had it on my Netflix list for quite a while so I could check out the story ahead of time, but it is always unavailable. But maybe if anyone can get a hold of that it might give us more clues. The Tourist opening has moved up to December 10. I will be in my local theater that day for sure! |

There's a long list of revised release dates now listed on IMDB. Apparently i'm going to be getting some Rufus for Christmas with a Boxing Day release here. It's a tradition to go to the movies on Boxing Day, because it's invariably about 42deg c here and everyone hits the movies to escape the heat!!! Now you know that i'm not one to flog a dead horse ( ;D), but Mr N is watching Top Gear. I don't know if it's an episode that's been seen in the UK or not, but it's basically a competition between the English Top Gear Team vs the Aussie Top Gear Team.
And along with my previous treatise on quintessential names, the Aussie TG team is called "The Bruces" and the English TG team is called - what else - but "The Nigels"
He'll always be Nigel to me!!!
