Fantastic pics, ladies! I'm sooooooooo wishing I'd been able to be there with you. I think someone please needs to explain the last pic of Judy, though, and the Rufus references - a cardboard cut-out, maybe? ;D Judy, Nicole and GL, I hope you enjoyed your visits over here - sorry about the weather!! I don't know what happened to the Indian summer we usually get. Now Judy's on her way home, by the sound of it, so safe journey to you today, and to Nicole and GL for tomorrow. Thanks for telling us all about the get-together, and not being shy about the group photo!!

Just wanted to say how much I enjoyed myself on Saturday at the 'Rufus Anonymous' (well not so anonymous now!) meeting.
The food and hospitality were fabulous and the company wonderful. It was great to meet you all and so nice to speak to Frannie when she telephoned. It feels so good to talk about Rufus without the usual rolling of eyes or that 'not again' look! Can't wait until the next group therapy session ;D
love Lassie x

Lovely to "meet" you via photos ladies, and I hope you can do it again in the future so we can all laugh, drink and toast Rufus! Looks like you had a wonderful time!

I think someone please needs to explain the last pic of Judy, though, and the Rufus references - a cardboard cut-out, maybe? ;D I think Nell must have been referring to this photo. We were all so shocked when Himself walked through the door. You can see how stunned we look in this photo.

Ha-ha! So maybe Manuela's hubby was persuaded to wear a Rufus mask?! (Ooh, married Rooftoppers, is that an idea for you to get your other halves to try? LOL!)
Hope you enjoyed all of your trip, Judy - but I bet you're glad to be home again. Who looked after the kitties?

Yes, I made it home to Houston today. Another long, but uneventful flight and found that it was perfectly beautiful weather when I got home. A cool front must have blown through because the air was dry and the sky was blue and the temperature a bit cooler than when I had left a week ago! That made it a little easier to come back. I would have stayed in London if I could have! Now I've got to unpack and give Lucy and Ethel extra ear-scratchings. They got spoiled by the pet sitter, so they weren't too excited to see me come home.

Hey GE2! A Rufus mask? Mr. Nell? Never. I think he's the one who took that photo. Either he or Umberto. I don't remember which. I was too stunned to be holding hands with Rufus behind Manuela's back.

Hope they don't sulk for too long! Can we have some of that weather, please? You forgot to take the rain away with you!

I wasn't sad to leave the rain behind! I think I had a total of about a day and a half of nice weather the whole week. But even when it was raining, it didn't rain like it rains here. It was a gentle rain, usually more of a mist. (Here, we get big booming thunderstorms and it pours buckets. It's rare to get a day of light rain and mist.) But I had a wonderful, wonderful time in London! It was just as beautiful and exciting and fun as I remembered it. (Only with more tourists.) The B&B I stayed at was great (look up 69TheGrove on www.tripadvisor.com and you'll see I'm not alone in thinking that) and I got to do many of the things I had on my list. I'd need to stay another two weeks to have made it to the bottom of the list, though! (Oh, and Numbat, I forgot to tell you that there was a retired couple from Melbourne, Australia staying at the B&B and we had chatted at breakfast every morning. Trish and Fred were a hoot and got me convinced that I need to go to Australia for a holiday someday, too.)

If it's any consolation, the weather outside London wasn't too great, either - although my US friends and I did see some sun in Bath on Tuesday. Did you venture outside London at all?

Not on this trip. It was London, London, and more London! I went to Bath and Wells (and Rye and Rochester) on my last trip over 10 years ago.

It's so good to see that you all had a nice day and a lot of fun in London. I hope that everybody had/will have a safe journey home. And special thanks for the pics - as Kygal said:

Hello everyone! I am sitting on Heathrow airport at an internet point and writing you. Waiting for my flight back home to Germany. I just want to say in this very short and very fast mail that I loved every minute I spend with you ladies. It was such a perfect day. The meeting, the fantastic food (it is really the best tiramisu of London and the tagliatelle with lobster was perfect) and the walk afterwards with Nell and her hubby along the Thames and to Leicester Square was very lovely. I will definately be back next year. This was one of my best days ever. Tell you more when I am home and share my pictures with you. Now it is boarding time. All the best Nicole
