Welcome Sylvia So glad you found him and fell for him just like the rest of us; it's not a flaw in our character but a gift... ;D Marke is also one of my favorites (I hope that's allowed, even though I'm not German ). He is strong, kind, authoritative, regal, and gorgeous, and when he is betrayed it is heartbreaking. And, as has been said many times before here, Isolde is stupid. Marke marked my Rufus encounter turning obsession and I could't agree more with Rueful: Isolde is STUPID. My all time fav sof ar is TOTS....then again who wouldn't. Explore & Enjoy!!!

Thanks for the further warm welcome ! By the way, your username is very Irish-sounding - is there a story behind that?! Hi GreenEyesToo, there exists a little story to my username. I love Scotland very much. And I love to read historical novels set in Scotland. So I found a few years ago the book "Kilgannon" by Kathleen Givens. The German edition was published unter the title "die Rose von Kilgannon", which translated means "the rose of Kilgannon". So I found my username!

That's a beautiful story behind the name. I'm sure you've been to Scotland already - something I'm still dreaming of ...

Well I live in Scotland so you can stay with me if you decide to come visit! We can have a Ruf-athon Thanks for this warm welcome. My family has a special connection with Scotland. I visited it twice. Made a round trip in 2009 and stayed for one week at Edinburgh last year and made some trips then. But back to the connection: my father was a prisoner of war at the end of the 2nd World War. He was in a POW at Scotland, in the area of Perth. After the war has ended and the prisoners had set free, he stayed at that farm where he has to work during his captivity. My mother moved to Scotland for work during 1947. They met at a dancing party. 2 Germans meet and fall in love in Scotland. That's lucky, isn't it? My older sister was still born in Scotland. They moved back to Germany when my sister was 3 years old. We kept in touch with the farmer and his wife until they died. Will visit Scotland this year again ... I love it!

Amazing story, Sylvia....sounds like an inspiration of a beautiful book, that's my first thought in mind. It's something you'd cherish generations to come in the family and I'm glad that you shared it with us (:

Yours is a lovely story Sylvia. I'd like to add my welcome to the Rooftop. I'm another Taming of The Shrew fanatic. I can well see how you fell for the lovely Lord Marke too I noticed today that there's a one off viewing of Tristan and Isolde at my cinema soon. Some film festival event or something. I think this film was very under valued. You love Scotland too. I have made a few visits there myself. My last trip was to Applecross in the West Highlands. It was beautiful.
