:)Hi everyone. Been on the site for couple of weeks now and love all 'your wonderful comments. Been a Rufus fan for years having first seen him play Charles II on tv. then kinda lost interest as he didn't seem to be in much else or I didn't see what he was in. Didn't forget him though and caught up with him when he turned up in Holiday. Didn't know about Zen until I saw the trailer. Now I am absolutely hooked and am watching everything I can get my hands on. Loved Zen absolutely. I think he will now become a household name which is long deserved as he is a fabulous actor and as you all agree soooooh handsome. By the way I am 63 years old. 20 years older than Rufus but I am still one of his biggest fans and I think he is terrific. I am struggling a bit on how to use the site properly but hope I can get the hang of it. What a surprise when he turned up at the NTV awards. I only watched on the chance that he would be there as I knew Benedict Comberbach was nominated and he is a friend of Rufus' Its lovely to meet you all.

Hi Judy, Thanks for your welcome. I have been catching up on some of Rufus' dvd's. First I watched Middlemarch. I had seen that before but could not remember what I thought about Rufus at the time. Then I bought TPOTE which I had seen the first episold of when on tv but had missed the rest of the episodes. I have now started watching the dvd's in date order from 1994. Yesterday I watched Dark City and A Knight's Tale, the first I thought was good but the latter I only liked because Rufus is so absolutely gorgeously handsome in it even though he is the baddie. Today I watched Helen of Troy which I really enjoyed and Rufus is soooooooh hearthrobbingly handsome even though he is the baddie in this as well. Superb acting though espec ially when he has to kill his little daughter. He is such a good actor. I have often wondered why he is not more famous. I think his good looks have probably stopped him from getting some parts he may well have wanted to do. Sorry to ramble on. Robela

Glad you finally join us Robela Just like you, I'm still digging his works; some I've watched repeatedly (Uncorked mostly) and some are new arrival of dvds from Amazon. I have not yet seen Zen but sure I'd enjoy them too. I fell for Lord Marke first then stumbled upon Petrucchio and lately still mesmerized by Mick Carpenter. So, I hope you'd love them too as by date order would be Mick, Petrucchio then Marke. See ya' round

Hello & welcome to the Rooftop! Glad that you decided to join I'd forgotten about Rufus more or less after I had admired him in "Tristan & Isolde" some years ago, until fortunately TPOTE aired in Germany and Rufusitis hit me very badly. I haven't recovered since and I'm not sure if I'd want to You've got some excellent performances left to discover. Feel free to leave your comments in the respective threads - and have lots of fun on the Rooftop!

Welcome to the Rooftop, Robela!
If you don't know them already, I'd recommend The Woodlanders, In A Savage Land, The Taming Of The Shrew <beware of muscle ache from laughing> and also Victory to watch.

Welcome, I know you are going to fit right in if you watched the tv awards just in case he was on it. I only knew that he was on when my Dad rang to tell me. My whole family know about my Rufusitis (and actually I think that my Mum has caught it to). Have fun and see you around the site

Hi everyone, thanks ever so much for your welcome. Yes I'm spending most of my time at the moment just drooling and catching up with the Ruf DVD's. I have them all stacked up in date order of when they were made. I have loved Rufus for years although he did go to the back of my mind a bit when I bought a house in France with my partner and we were over there a lot. My daughter knows I'm Ruf crazy and she appreciates his many charms also. I have ordered Unplugged after reading your comments about it. I must say I had not even heard of it. That is being shipped from US by Amazon so won't get that straight away but am looking forward to it as you all seem to rave about it. Also still awaiting The Taming of the Shrew which my daughter has seen and said he is fantastic but then he always is even in some of the old ones where he plays really odd scruffy people (like in Meet Frank & Daniel & Lawrence) which I watched yesterday. I've told my daughter I'm just weaning myself off him. She just laughs. She knows I will always be mad about him. Yes I think I will fit in with you all as I know you all feel the same and its lovely to share our thoughts. Having rewatched the three episodes of Zen now having the DVD' I think this is definitely going to bring him more recognition which he so deserves but I hope it won't change him from the really sweet guy he seems to be from the interviews he gives. I can't believe he doesn't realize how good looking and attractive he is.? I loved it in the interview he did for Zen on BBC news when he said he wanted the part because Zen is just an 'ordinary bloke' !!!! He is not pretentious at all. I have to take my cat to the vet now and see my family so cannot just immerse myself in Ruf today as I have been want to do. Bye for now.
