I think this is definitely going to bring him more recognition which he so deserves but I hope it won't change him from the really sweet guy he seems to be from the interviews he gives. I think he's just the kind of person who doesn't get turned into a jerk by success. That's what I like so much about him, he remains grounded and always appears truly grateful for any good job opportunity. That's probably part of his charm, he doesn't walk around like a peacock, trying to show off how wonderful he is. I hope it's just a routine check for your cat?! Otherwise all the best for him/her!

Hi robela from one newbie to the other. Looking forward to discuss the Rufus discoveries Like you said, I hope as well that he will get more recognition after Zen. And honestly I didn't know anything about the person Rufus Sewell until I found this forum. He really seems to be a down to earth and very nice bloke. I agree with you Kate - I don't think that success will change him much - he is very grounded and has had his wild years from what I read, but has found his "middle" now. Hope your cat is alright Robela.

In fact, everything new I learn about him endears him even more to me. That's hard to find in celebrities of any kind. Many tend to lose touch at some point.

My daughter knows I'm Ruf crazy and she appreciates his many charms also. Also still awaiting The Taming of the Shrew which my daughter has seen and said he is fantastic but then he always is even in some of the old ones where he plays really odd scruffy people (like in Meet Frank & Daniel & Lawrence) which I watched yesterday. I've told my daughter I'm just weaning myself off him. She just laughs. She knows I will always be mad about him. So you think I'm odd and scruffy and you're still mad about me? Hah!Welcome Robela, and enjoy this friendly funny community! You'll definitely like Taming Of The Shrew!

Hi Robela Welcome to the Rooftop. I definately agree with your daughter regarding Taming of the Shrew. It's my favourite piece of work closely followed by Charles 2. I have rather alot of favourites though. I'm sure you have too. The best advise is get everything you can lay your hands on I'm sure you'll find your way around here soon enough - but please shout up if you're struggling with anything. Rufus does seem a lovely guy. Myself and a few others have been fortunate to meet Rufus and I can vouch he was absolutely lovely. I hope your cat gets on ok at the vets - you will find a few cat people here too. Me for one ! See you around. Nell

Welcome, Robela! I'm another great fan of Rufus's portrayal of Charles II. I hope you like Uncorked when it arrives - Rufus as sweet funny Ross, with lots of fluffy curls......*sigh*. It's a lovely feelgood movie, one i watch to cheer myself up. TOTS is another must. Have fun exploring!

Thank you everyone. The Rufus sweetness rubs of on you all. Nell, when I read that you have met him I went weak at the knees!! You are so, so,lucky. I can just dream. I am so enjoying sharing stuff from all of you. Thank you for asking about my cat. I think she will be ok. She seems to have a bladder infection... ooh painful!! The vet has given her an injection of antibiotics and I only have to take her back if she doesn't improve but everything checked out on her ok.. Thanks to you all for asking. I watched first half of Charles DVD tonight. Agree with all the comments. Fell in love with him afresh and so enjoyed that he was the main man and in every single scene. Will comment on the Charles thread when I have seen second disc. I have by the way seen it when it was originally screened in 2004 thats when I fell for Ruf bigtime.

Oh, poor cat, hope she gets well very soon!
Have fun with the rest of Charles II. Enjoyed that during Christmas holiday and was very impressed. A fantastic piece of work and sooo much Rufus screentime!

I just can't stop thanking all you lovely people for the fabulous photos and stuff. He looks gorgeous in the Frank one with his romantic curls and Nell, I love the one you posted with the quirky so cute smile which says to me 'another one bites the dust'. Received my Taming of the Shrew this morning. I'm going to be busy. Will be ordering The Woodlanders and In a Savage Land soon but must give the card a bit of a rest just at the minute. Thanks for all the advice! Its so kind and helpful. ;D

Good luck with finding IASL and Woodlanders, they're quite tough to get (at least the Region 2 DVD). But don't give up, these are two very beautiful films.
