As I catch myself having strange thoughts and doing strange things because of Rufusitis and you girls certainly have had similar experiences, maybe it would be nice to share them, if you want to (kind of self-help group ). Starting to buy loads of DVDs although you never were much of a DVD buyer is probably a very common symptom. In the process I even registered with ebay which was something I used to swear I'd never do. Rufusitis also was the thing that finally pushed me to buy an iPod so that I can carry my Rufus audiobooks and Rufus music with me wherever I go. I hate smoking and never cared for men who do, but Rufus with a cigarette looks pretty darn sexy to me. I hardly ever listen to any album more than twice in a row and certainly not audiobooks of any kind, but I don't know how often Nick Silver has played in my car during the last weeks. I've got a T shirt with a "Yellow Submarine" print - lately I love wearing that because it reminds me of Rufus and his dad. Since I watched Zen, I need at least one espresso a day. And I keep posting Rufus references on Facebook (while I never was much into any kind of star in my teens and if I did, I didn't talk much about it because usually it was somebody no one else seemed to like).

Same here - I really detest smoking -still can't understand how I could stand it for 2 1/2 years with my last BF. But Rufus doing it is just so sexy Another sympton is developing eyes at your back because of spending too much time on the internet at work and always having to be ready to switch to a work related page in case someone barges into the office Another sympton is trying hard to not talk endlessly to my work colleague about Rufus this and Rufus that. She likes his looks but otherwise doesn't know who he is.

I have the same symptoms! I am also not someone who does any online social networking. The only sites I go to involve Rufus Sewell!
Oh yes...the money I have spent at Amazon! Yes... it is worth it!

When I have to take a business trip, I don't just pack a book for the journey and the evenings, but also a DVD to watch on my laptop and hopefully have sweet Rufus dreams.
And I've learned how to make screencaps because I couldn't find pics of some of my favourite scenes.

I have devoted many many hours to figuring out how to save video that is supposed to be unsavable to my computer, and then figuring out how to put them onto discs...and all I have to put into the internet search bar lately is "ru" and it automatically fills in Rufus Sewell for me...hehe

I hate smoking and never cared for me who do, but Rufus with a cigarette looks pretty darn sexy to me. These days smoking is seen as a bad habit (rightly so, I might add). If you have trouble spotting the baddie in the movie (and Rufus is not in it), if he smokes, you can bet your @$$ he's not the hero in the story. Over a few decades smoking went from "cool" to "outcast". My in-laws were married in the 60s. In their album they have the official photo of the groom, both fathers and the best man. They are all holding a lit cigarette in their hand! Rufus + smoking = My hubby smokes and when I'm totally stressed out I smoke one too. (But I have to begstealorborrow one from someone, because I never have them with me)

Same here with the smoking thing. And beards! Never did really like beards before, but on Rufus it's yum! haha Another symptom I have a lot: noticing actors who've been in movies with Rufus before, and promptly mentioning it to whoever is in the room. "Oh look, it's Paul Bettany! He was in two movies with Rufus, A Knight's Tale and The Tourist." My mom is already annoyed at me for doing that all the time.

I hope he realized what he'd done to us!!!
We should make appt with Dr. Hood, the only Doctor specialized in Rufusitis (I didn't say that he can cure it, but he'd definetely makes us feel better ;D)

You know, how this thread has played out is a prime example of the original usage of the term "Rufusitis", in that it was what caused fangirls to be distracted, make mistakes, forget to do things, etc, etc. Now it's being used to denote fangirlism itself! ;D How quickly our specialised language has evolved!

Watched most of the BAFTAs last pm on BBC America and taped it in hopes Rufus would be there. Did not see him. Was he there? I thought I heard someone yell Rufus on the red carpet...then again...could be Rufusitis! Really thought he would be there since he went to the tea party.
