Um...not very and not very! LOL! Figures! Did you see the reply from the BBC that I quoted above, blaming LeftBank?! That person's follow up tweet was: When I rang the #BBC about #Zen he didn't ask for my name, said he knew who it was?! Sounded scared & then lied to me.So I assume that was just some harried telephone operator frustrated with all the angry Zen-related calls he was having to answer. At least, that's what I'm hoping.

Ah, didn't see that.... Well, I'm hoping you're right about all the calls. Maybe it was Let's-get-down-with-the-workers Day and it was Cohen on the switch!! ;D

That's good that people are angry. I agree with GE2 and others that the BBC probably isn't going to change it's mind, but the outcry might push another channel to pick it up. Also, as Rai pointed out several pages ago, PBS in the US is now suddenly pushing Zen with a very nice promo. I hope this will get US viewers interested. video.pbs.org/video/1797278934Ah, didn't see that.... Well, I'm hoping you're right about all the calls. Maybe it was Let's-get-down-with-the-workers Day and it was Cohen on the switch!! ;D

the news of the axing of 'zen' is so depressing and a further indication of the rather nasty, distasteful thinking of the bbc these days. the decision and reasons given have implications for us all as to the kind of television programmes we get. the bbc is not concerned with quality and shows contempt for it's audiences wishes. it was a wonderful production, beautifully acted. rufus sewell is such a classy, committed actor. a joy to watch. all contributors here please remember to complain to the bbc directly. we really shouldn't allow them to get away with this kind of idiotic decision. i'm particularly fed up with the constant stream of dross and as we are obliged to pay a licence fee we all should complain at this kind of treatment. extraordinary actors of the kind that rufus is need quality drama to be made and we the audience must demand it on his and others behalf.

Welcome Megreeneyesaswell, Glad you've joined the Rooftop. We've all been writing and complaining to the BBC on the forums and the blogs and in email and letter form but I think they think they are more powerful than the public who fund them and will not change the decision to decommission Zen. We are concentrating now on supporting Andy Harries, Executive Producer of Left Bank Pictures who produced Zen and who is now in negotiation with other companies (so it is said) to make another series of Zen. There have been literally thousands of complaints, it is all over facebook and twitter and we have emailed Left Bank Pictures giving our support and advising other companies of the large viewer audience which is awaiting another series. Hopefully a positive outcome will ensue. Please say hello and introduce yourself on the members thread.

Even though they may not be very influential, I like the Sunday Mercury article anyway I'll just keep hoping that we will soon hear that Andy Harries has succeeded in negotiations with another channel. And I do hope that Zen will be a success in other countries, too. According to some Facebook postings some Scandinavian countries seem to like Aurelio already, and I very much hope that they will bring him on soon on German TV. I can imagine he may go down well with the German audience, as many of us love Italy (as a holiday destination as much as for lifestyle and food).

Just read this today... absolutely gutted!. Typical BBC...puts on a decent drama...something to look forward to on a Sunday evening amongst all the dire dross that's churned out and subsequently goes and axes it.. even my 18 year old daughter sat down and watched this. Cut the reality ' rubbish' BBC. Don't you recognise a good thing when you see it? Beautiful setting, intriguing plots, good actors Zen is one of the best programmes I've seen... atmospheric, superbly acted, tight plots and the gorgeous Rufus Sewell... Danny Cohen ..Hang your head in shame.....Left Bank...you've a winner here...don't let this series disappear. Hope ItV or Channel 4 pick up and knock spots off BBC in ratings. Absolutely disgusted licence payer! who will be writing to the Beeb to complain LOUDLY!

Thanks for that Bluebeatbabe, The more people complain and make a fuss the better. A lot of us on the Rooftop have written to the BBC but they think they are above giving the viewers what they want. We are trying to drum up support for another t.v. company to take Zen on for a new series. If you want to join in the support the email address of Andy Harries at Left Bank Pictures who produced the Zen series is: info@leftbankpictures.co.uk Thanks for your support!
