Oh, thank you, walt, for looking up the sales figures on amazon - I kept forgetting that I wanted to do that. This is becoming less and less understandable!

Ok - this is bad news but let's focus on the good:
The producer is actively looking for another broadcast outlet which is pretty important. When EH was canceled the producer (Jerry Bruckheimer) lost interest. Andy Harries wants to continue Zen and will work his ass off to make it happen.
Another good point: the ratings for the show were good and the DVD sales (thanks Walt for looking up those figures) are strong. This will make Zen attractive to another network. After all, money is the bottom line for those people and this is a product that can make them some money.
I only hope that wherever Zen lands (and I am confident it WILL find another home) that it's still made available for the US market.

Thanks for the viewing figures, Walt, and for all the contact info, Dippy. Anger is sometimes a good thing--it can be productive. RadioTimes has tweeted about it: Oh, dear - seems like quite a few of you hadn't heard the bad news about Zen bit.ly/gQVT5z RT if you think #Zen should be saved! I have already seen a lot of retweets. So if any of you has a Twitter account, please sign in and RT the above message. Here's a link to the original message twitter.com/RadioTimesAlso, don't forget this one: RT @crimeficreader: Pls help save #ZEN TV series & tweet @simonmayo 2moro PM using "MORE ZEN PLEASE". BBC are ditching this great series. If you search twitter.com for #bringzenback and #savezen you will see other posts. So at least we're not alone in our disappointment. The facebook group for zen is starting their campaign by telling people to fill out the BBC's complaint form online. Here's a link to the form www.bbc.co.uk/complaints/forms/They're recommending the following answers: I would like to....Make a complaint -> What does your complaint relate to?...Television-> Location....England (or other Region)-> Channel....BBC1->Programme title...Zen->Transmission Date...Sun 16 Jan 2011>Complaint Category...Other->Summary...Programme axed unjustly->Full Complaint...The Programme Zen is an example an excellent of BBC's quality drama and the news no further episodes will no longer be commissioned and broadcast is a bitter blow. I would like the decision to be reviewed.->Do you want to receive a reply?..Yes ->Have you contacted us before..No->Contact Details..(supply details) (Or you would substitute whatever you wanted in the "Full Complaint" section.) Here's a link to the facebook page www.facebook.com/pages/Zen/129905420405264?v=wall&filter=1

Thanks for the BBC link! I've just given them an earful (albeit more politely than in the Cap-its ).

Very bad news but we know the TV is becoming more and more trash all over the world. We can even hope that, whether the series will be successful in Italy, Mediaset, the italian production, will think to make it by itself, to compete with Montalbano series, detective in Sicily of the lucky books by Camilleri, produced by RAI. I don't think Sky, the great competitor of Mediaset pay network in Italy, can be interested. Am I wrong? I hope. Anyway I'm sad for Rufus, who enjoyed very much to be here and play that role he loved, and I'm soooooo sad for myself too, for I hoped ardently to meet him again this summer.

Direct from the House of Irony: www.facebook.com/masterpiecepbsMasterpiece on PBS here in the States promoting Zen coming soon!! Discussed it all with Rufus last night. He's rolling with the punches and resigned to the fact that these things happen. Still waiting for a role that he wants to do, hence is still unemployed for the moment. I suggested perhaps it would be a smash U.S. hit and CBS would pick it up. No need to repeat what his reaction to that was! ;D He's doing fine. He's happy. But we fans & friends are sad because we want to see him on our TV's, right? Rai

Oh Rai, hope you log on again soon. Just wanted to say I hope you told Rufus how gutted we all are here on Rooftops and how hard we are fighting for him! So many people are complaining on the forums and to the BBC that they may well reconsider and even if they don't because of their new controller Danny Cohen (is it) with Andy Harries negotiating with other T.V companies and other channels, surely there is a good chance that we will be seeing Rufus as Aurelio again!! I hope he hasn't given up on Zen - he was so enthusiastic when promoting it in the interviews he gave with the BBC Breakast and ITV Good Morning. I hope you can give us some hope.

Rai, thanks for letting us know that you've been in contact with Rufus and that he's doing okay. That unemployment won't last for long, once the new Zen broadcaster's announced! I suggested perhaps it would be a smash U.S. hit and CBS would pick it up. No need to repeat what his reaction to that was! ;D Bet it involved swearwords?!
