Here's a bit of news that might cheer our pals down under up a bit. Zen airs in April 2011. Not long to wait now ! I'm not sure what's with the 3 x 50 though. I can only assume that's a mistake. For the record DCi Banks also airing in April is worth a look too. Not a patch on Zen of course but I enjoyed it in it's own right. mumbrella.com.au/upstairs-downstairs-heads-for-uktv-40961

Unfortunately UKTV is a subscription cable channel so it doesn't really have mass exposure, however i do believe that in the recent overseas sales Zen was also bought by the ABC (our equivalent of the BBC) so presumably it will be shown free to air sometime soon as well which will be the really good news.
I've started having to keep a record of all those who've borrowed my DVD, so i've already been doing my bit to get it seen!!! And of course i made the girls watch my <cough> <cough> "other" version, almost as soon as it was broadcast in the UK!
I believe TPOTE is also being shown on UKTV in April as well, so it will be a veritable Rufus overload on there next month!!! ;D

smarthouse.com.au/Content_And_Downloads/Industry/R4P7K6S6It's amusing to see the Beep flogging the first series of Zen and bragging about it being "intelligent TV" clearly they feel us UK people are a bit thick and can't understand anything anywhere near as difficult so will instead be fed a diet of reality TV the likes of "What Katie Did Next !" Personally I couldn't give a monkeys chuff what Katie does next ! It's good to see Zen getting the exposure though. Maybe an Aussie broadcaster will have the sense to payroll a second series, seeing as the broadcasters in the UK are clearly the thick ones here .

Thanks for that Nell, it can only be good for us. I am sure the Australian population will enjoy Zen and then maybe some company with a modicum of common sense and a forward thinking knowledge of what will be popular will commission one or more series of this outstanding production!

I hope Zen plays well in Austrailia and I hope it plays even better in the US.
I found the last line most interesting. I think that beginning your own projects is the best way to make sure they are done as you like them and if Zen is any example of what he is looking for I believe his projects will succeed.
Nice article.
