I'm currently listening to "Moonraker". Enjoying it quite a lot just because of that wonderful voice ... and Rufus actually had me screeching with laughter when he cursed in German (for those who speak German: "L.M.A.A." ). Perfectly pronounced, by the way.

Finished listening to Moonraker - really liked that one. I agree it is so funny to hear Rufus talking/swearing German, he did a great job I had some laundry to do and thought I listen into The Spy who loved me - which is read by Samantha Bond and when you start listen to it it's obvious why Rufus didn't read that one as it is told from the perspective of a girl named Vivien Michel in 1st person. I couldn't stop listening to it - I did the laundry, cooked dinner and ate dinner. It is totally different, but kept me hooked for 3 hours and the last half hour is very sexy in some parts - so I could at least imagine Rufus as James Bond in that scenes

Listened to From Russia With Love yesterday, whilst ironing and then just sat relaxing listening to the marvellous different voices and accents of Rufus. I agree with you Zenina that some of these Bond stories are a bit boring especially the ones concerning card games but From Russia with Love is excellent. Such a good story and Rufus is absolutely excellent doing the different voices of Bond, M, the Russian Spy girl and the baddie, who has a northern Ireland accent, which Rufus does to perfection. He is so talented!! Absolutely loved it!

I quite agree. Now was Ian Fleming a little devil with those double entendres or have I just got a filthy mind ;D
I've just finished Doctor No and loved the Caribbean accent particularly the ladies voice.

Nell, I think your mind is just fine . I finished Dr. No, and now bought "Goldfinger" and "From Russia with love". I actually have all Bond books in audio format, but read by another narrator. When I make the comparison with Rufus, the other version simply feels pale and plain. Bravo, Rufus! Isn't it time now for some other audio books to read for us?!

I've just finished Doctor No and loved the Caribbean accent particularly the ladies voice. Have to agree with that Nell. I have recently listened to Dr No and found it quite charming. The Caribbean accent and the way he speaks to Honey! A good story too. Rufus as always superb!
