It was horrible to see what's happened in Northern Japan. My thoughts and prayers goes out to them.
As the 8.8 hit Japan, a 6.6 hit Sumbawa (Indonesia) and as the tsunami hits Hawaii at this moment, a tsunami is hitting Singaraja (northern part of Bali). My family there who lives between the Sanur and Kuta beach is on alert.
Srangely this morning, husband shook me to wake me up from crying in my sleep, I told him I dreamt about terrible flood from the sea and forced to leave love ones behind. He turned on the TV for weather forecast and the Japan tragedy was all over the news. He looked at me paused and baffled.
The wave will arrive on the west coast by 11am ET. My hope that our dear Rufus and his love ones are safe, away from the possible danger....my hope for every body also.

Been watching CNN all morning. Does it seem to anyone else that we've had a lot of geologic/seismic activity the last 6 months or so?
Sewellme, hope all those you love are safe, and that goes for everyone else here at the board, too, no matter where they are.

Heartbreaking scenes and yes I do agree Rumantic. The last few years, it seems earthquakes, and tsunami's are becoming more frequent. The world is a dangerous place, some man made and others natural.
Prayers and thoughs to loved ones. x

This is too tragic for words. I can't believe what mother nature is throwing at us recently.
I hope everyone here and their family and friends remain safe and unaffected by this latest disaster.

Thank you every one for the support.... Thankfully the tsunami emergency has been lifted in Indonesia and my family are safe in Bali. They went to higher ground and hold a prayer, now as they realized how lucky they were compared to the ones in Japan, to show their support, a community prayer is held.
I agree with Rumantic, the level of earth disasters have been elevated, spiked I must say for this 6 months. I remembered they were saying after the 2004 Quake in Aceh that it was a start of domino effect along the ring of fire within short years to come, I didn't pay much attention to it but since then more quakes along that ring started happening and these been too much to swallow.
Dunno why but this one in Japan upset my tummy. Just last year I was admiring some rice paddy field as my flight was about to land in Tokyo, now the sight of similar one up north hopelessly engulped by debree-driven water??? To think that the people only have minutes to save themself from that??? Sorry, perhaps I should vent this on the "I Just..."

no worries, sewell me, vent where ever you like... glad to hear your family is well.
I didn't know that about the 2004 earthquake...seems like the only thing I hear is scientists saying that none of this is related to anything else, which seems kind of unbelievable to me.

I'm very glad to hear that your loved ones are safe, sewellme!
The frequency and size of natural desasters in recent years is truly frightening!
