Hello & welcome on the Rooftop, Katie Great that you decided to join, have fun! Which films have you already seen? My Rufusitis, as we call this incurable disease around here, hit me hard late last year when "The Pillars of the Earth" was on German TV. I remembered that I had seen and admired "Tom Builder" in "Tristan & Isolde", decided to do a bit of research on the Web, came across some great videos on youtube and then this forum - then was totally and madly infected Although I love watching just about everything with Rufus in it, my particular favourites are Taming of the Shrew, Charles II, the wonderful Zen, Illuminata, Uncorked, The Woodlanders and In a Savage Land. There's so much variety in Rufus's work and he manages amazingly to give every character depth and credibility, no matter how good or bad the script actually is. Ah, there she is - finally decided to join the fun among my fangirls. I'll drink to that!

Thank you so much kissmekate & P-GG for the warm welcome & pics! i am glad there is no cure for the Rufusitis.. that is one 'condition' i am very happy to live with!! :-)
the films i have seen so far are Zen, The Woodlanders, Tristan & Isolde, TOTS, Vinyan, Middlemarch, Knights Tale, Martha, Meet Frank, Daniel & Laurence, Extreme Ops, Dangeous Beauty, Holiday.. i think.. that is my current list to date!!
My fave, although same as you, i have enjoyed everything he has been in that i have seen so far, would have to be TOTS... ! he is just so funny in it.. !
i would very much like to watch In a Savage Land, but i cant buy it in UK on a R2 disc.. i want to get Charles II as well & maybe Carrington & Uncorked! i do love that curly hair in some of the earlier roles! :-)
i like the fact that he is a 'choosy beggar' about his parts, but i would love to see him in more new things, so lets hope the good offers keep coming to him!

i did wonder to myself for about half a minute if it was actually ok to still fancy him in fishnets & a skirt.. but i do anyway!! ;-) haha! He was the first and only man ever that I liked in drag ... found him pretty darn sexy, to be honest So you've seen quite a lot of his work already, among them some of the best things he's done so far. IASL is very very hard to get, it might be worth looking for it on ebay every now and then - that's how I got my R2 copy. And do get Uncorked, that's THE pick-me-up movie for me (with wonderful music!)

Who could resist me? ;D Welcome katie - glad you found this place. You have seen already quite a lot of Rufus' films - TOTS is also one of my favourites. Rufus caught my attention again when I saw him in Zen - after that there was no cure for my Rufusitis (but I've known him since Middlemarch in the mid nineties.) You might be lucky to get Uncorked/Higher Love on Ebay. I bought a copy from Australia which is REgion 4 and plays on region 2 players. In a Savage Land is hard to get, do watch it on Youtube (if you haven't already) Enjoy

You can find Uncorked on youtube in 10-minute instalments. Not as good as a full-time DVD on the big screen, but better than nothing in case you're having trouble finding the movie.

Hello Katie, Welcome! and nice to have another Rufaholic on board. We are all a lot crazy about Rufus on here and we never tire of exchanging information and pics and anything else we can find about him. Middlemarch was the first thing I saw him in but it was Charles II that had me hooked. After that I sort of put him in the background (can't believe I did that now) because I sort of lost track of what he was up to. It was when I saw Pillars of the Earth and then Zen that I absolutely fell bigtime again!! Since then I have enjoyed catching up on all the dvd's and information about him from the girls on here. I think my favourite is TOTS and I have watched it 10 times in the last three months. I will no doubt be watching again soon. Like you I just love him in that and Shirley Henderson too! We have a great time and lots of fun on this site and you will find yourself spending too much time on your computer but that is the price you pay for Rufusitus!! Lovely to have you on board, Love & Hugs Robela
