I hate to enter this debate . . . naaaah, I don't hate it. I do prefer the character Charles II to Hood. Who looks cuter though . . . um . . . they are both yummylicious.

I did watch EH last night, but I've got to say I would not do so if Rufus were not in it. And I could not help watching the first episode of Charles II which I thoroughly enjoyed. Loved, it loved it and loved it. Far better than EH if just for the scenes of Rufus with a naked chest, having sex and snogging. ;D

I will agree on two points made here:

1. Charlie had better luck with women than Jacob

2. I wouldn't have made it past the first episode of EH if it hadn't been for Jacob

But as far as looks go.....Jacob rules, Charlie drools. Sorry ladies, that's just the way it is!

I can only imagine that the reason behind all this is that you haven't had the chance to actually watch Charles II yet, have you my darling?

Jacob is handsome & clever, & suave in his tux, & well spoken (in a mumbly sort of brit doing an American accent kinda way), & broken in a way that makes us want to rescue him from his pain, & well dressed, & kind,

but,

Charlie is a SEX BOMB

Listen luv, i know Jacob was your um "first" and will forever have a special place in your heart, but once you KNOW Charlie, you'll realise that Charles II is one of the absolute jewels in the crown of Rufus's repertoire (excuse the pun!), and EH really doesn't even compare.

Rueful - how true!! Aggie and Lord Marke make Charlie look silly! Aggie and Lord Marke are tied for first, Jacob second. Charlie....waaaayyyy down the list!

Numbat - I'll admit I've seen CII only on youtube many, many, many, times. My pc seems to slo-mo thru certain scenes on it's own for some reason!! I can get the american version of the DVD but someone on this board said to get the UK version is at all possible. But the UK version won't play on my DVD player. Waaahh!!

Oh yes, Charles has no problems in that area! I suspect, given the chance with a gal from KS, Jacob wouldn't either!!!

Wichi, i've read a few times on the net that you can find a code of some sort that "unlocks" the region blocks on your DVD player. As you say, you really do need to get the uncut UK version - it's just such a shame that you can't experience the full Charles II except on Youtube which can be pretty frustrating.

And i've been feeling mean to poor Jacob all day (because i have to admit - i love them all - even the really awful ones like Martin Ricardo!!!!) It just shows that you can stir up some passion when you say things like this:

To be fair to Charlie (since this is his thread), I'll admit it was not his fault he was born in an era that saddled him with a Cowardly Lion wig.

And, if I step out of the shallow end of the pool (just a sec, Aggie, I'll be right back), Charles was a fantastic role, a real showcase for Rufus's talents, as well as a fascinating historical figure to learn about. I've only seen it on the teeny youtube screen myself, and the performance and story still blow me away. Love it, love it!

(wichi, I think it's some sort of defect in the youtube video itself, because it always slo-mos and rewinds itself in those same scenes when I watch it too!)

However, to me, Charlie's just not as heart-stoppingly, head-spinningly, soul-shatteringly gorgeous as Aggie (I'm back!), Marke, Ali Baba, or Jacob. So....more shares of Charlie for GE2 and numbat!
