Rufus is not on screen, but is narrating this BBC2 documentary right NOW! I've only just found out, thanks to a couple of tweets - it began at 9pm and ends at 10.30. I assume we can listen (again) on i-Player later. Yay and grrrrr (Rufus's name is not showing on the listing mag's credits). Ohhhh, he has such a lovely voice. H @hermionecameron
So lovely to hear Rufus Sewell narrating Lucian Freud Ruth Darby @rufusroughcut
Fascinating documentary about Lucian Freud on BBC2. An intriguing man. The beautiful, clipped tones of Rufus Sewell are the cherry on top.

It was a bit of a surprise GE2. Settled down to watch and the wonderful tones appeared. Wonderful programme. Hope some of you got a chance to watch.
Love Ophelia xxx

Thanks so much for finding this, GE2! As always, I appreciate your detective work! It seems to be on iplayer already, and hopefully is playable for non-UK residents through the usual methods (such as expatshield). This is just what I need as I sit up in the middle of the night coughing. Best medicine around!

Ophelia, I'm glad you saw the whole thing - it's not the sort of programme i would normally watch, but it was very interesting, made even more so by Rufus's dulcet tones every few minutes! Rueful, so sorry ro hear you're unwell, and hope you're better soon - Rufus is definitely the best medicine! (I can't lay any claim to detective work, though - it was a tweet that alerted me, I checked the Radio Times, et voila!)

Great find, GE2! And yes, the BBC i-player works only in the UK or by using a proxy-server like the expat-shield.

As the BBC are renowned for their repeats we'll have to keep our eyes open!!!!!

Just had a quick earful. I'll listen tomorrow when I've got more time but that was enough to keep me going. I've always had a thing for voices - Richard Burton, Alan Badel, Alan Dobie, Anthony Hopkins, Timothy Dalton and now Rufus.............

Rueful, so sorry ro hear you're unwell, and hope you're better soon - Rufus is definitely the best medicine! Thanks, much better. But you are second to none in chasing down tweets! ;D Thanks again! It was a very interesting program about someone I didn't know much about (my knowledge of modern artists being even more limited than my knowledge of classic artists). I love a good biography. (Does anyone else think that a certain actor we know would make a very interesting Lucien Freud in a biopic?)

(Does anyone else think that a certain actor we know would make a very interesting Lucien Freud in a biopic?) YES! I had that same thought when watching the program. Dark curly/wavy hair, intense eyes. Rufus would be amazing in this role.

The truth is, Rufus is amazing in any/every role.
