Yea, Ladies -- We have our very own production company now. Not only can we "remake" our favorites from the Rufus vault by changing a co-star or a setting, we can come up with our own new projects for our favorite star. And we can find jobs for ourselves on the set. This could get a little complicated, but basically, we state if we're proposing a remake or a new project and spell out the details. Or if we're angling for a job for ourselves in a Rufus venture, we write our own job description. Just remember the "good girl" rules: no detailed stuff that moves it into the FanFiction realm, no X-rated productions (no R-rated, either, probably), no explicit stuff that would embarrass us or Rufus (or his mum), avoid things that send a moderator's blood pressure climbing. To begin: Rufus is starring in our new family-friendly adventure "Daddy Date Night" as a single father. I'm taking the job of script girl, so hand me some material, Rooftoppers. Who are his co-stars? where does it take place? what is his job? tell me about his child/children. why is he single? where will be be going on a date? (You can start your own project at any point, just be sure we keep the name of our "show" in each thread as we discuss them. )

avoid things that send a moderator's blood pressure climbing. ESPECIALLY that one!! PG-13, remember! Um.....can we keep everything in this thread, please, rather than in separate threads? Otherwise, "Other Rufus" is going to end up with lots of threads of the fantasy stuff, rather than actual stuff, about Rufus - sorry, but the latter is what this forum is about. You could either do one project at a time, OR put in bold at the top of the thread which one you're talking about, but please keep it to this one thread.Thank you! (and thanks to Anglo for spelling out the "rules" so clearly)

thanks for clarifying about the "one thread" issue. I meant it to all be on this thread, with a simple statement at the beginning of the post as to what the name of the project might be, so we wouldn't get them confused. Guess that wasn't too clear. Now on to your thoughts on "Daddy Date Night," please.

Oh, I love this thread already. Haven't got much time now to go into detail, but I'm looking forward to contributing some more later.
"Daddy Date Night" sounds fabulous. My suggestion is that he is the father of a girl for once in this one. She's the apple of his eye and his princess, but not in a spoilt-brat kind of way. It's only that she's all he has after losing his wife (whatever the reason ... I'm not quite sure yet if I want her to be dead or a silly woman who didn't realize what she had in him and left him for some pompous idiot banker or lawyer).
Age-wise I'd make the daughter something around ten or twelve. Still cute and cuddly as long as she's alone with her dad but with the first bits of teenage attitude showing. Trying to be cool, beginning to dress up in things Dad hadn't want to see her wear for the next ten years or so, maybe the first boyfriend lurking somewhere on the sidelines.
And I'd like to throw in another question: what's his name in this?

We're ready to begin our first production, fangirls. I've posted the suggestions already made below. All you have to do is either copy and paste to add your own ideas in the blanks, or add new "headings" we need to consider, or you can simply tell us in a new comment what you ideas are and I'll try to check in periodically and add all those ideas to this format for you. Doesn't have to be lengthy; anytime we're ready, we can begin a new movie, as well. Just tell us what you're thinking. Some very dedicated fangirls have already volunteered for jobs, as well. If you are willing to work on the set and/or have special gifts and talents to bring to the job, just give us your production company title and describe the work you'll be doing.
JUST REMEMBER TO KEEP IT ALL PG-13, LADIES. ;D Movie: Daddy Date Night Star: Rufus Sewell as widower Cole ____________. Cole works as a ______________ and lives in ____________ during the time frame of ______________. Co-star: Cole's pre-teen daughter, Chloe, who has ______________ hair, __________ eyes and looks a lot like _________. Co-star: Cole's first date, ________________, who has _________ hair, ______________ eyes and looks like ___________. Complicating factors: (1) Daughter is still cute and cuddly as long as she's alone with her dad but with the first bits of teenage attitude showing. Trying to be cool, beginning to dress up in things Dad hadn't want to see her wear for the next ten years or so, maybe the first boyfriend lurking somewhere on the sidelines. (2) ________________________ The following production company jobs have been filled(1) I would be Glad to be his personal assistant on the set for this movie and all the others. Pretty big of me isn't it. Kygal(2) I will be happy to be Cole's kissing coach and script consultant. Anglophile(3) Official hair-ruffler KMK(4) may I be Wardrobe Mistress? lindragon

, I am really glad you took the names I've choosen .... widower was my first idea, too ... yes, works better ... You need a photgrapher for press photos on set and outside and a film-editor (which is still my dream job) ... me ?? - Wait, you need a place .... I would prefer the coast ... with a Lighthouse in the near .... here's my shortlist: Wales, Scotland, Nova Scotia or Maine ....

Ooh, yes, I love the coast and the lighthouse! Cole wouldn't have been my first choice for his name, but I love that it's so similar to the daughter's name, underlining their special bond. Regarding his job, I think he's doing something well-respected but unglamorous. He loves his job, his heart is fully in what he does, but he's not getting rich with it. My first thought was something like a village doctor or a teacher. Preferably a music teacher with a knack for poetry (think The Voice reading poems to his beloved by the fireside ). His wife died (in an accident?) when Chloe was very young, so she doesn't remember her mother at all. To her, it has always been Daddy and herself. What about the timeline? Contemporary? (I'd really LOVE to see him do something set in the 1920s or 1960s, but maybe we'll put that off for another fantasy project. Let's finish this one first.) Re Chloe's looks: she has dark curly hair like her father's (which her best friend is very jealous of while she herself hates its unruliness) and her mother's blue eyes and cute snub nose. Another idea for the storyline: Cole's older sister has been trying to hitch him up with a friend of hers. He likes her all right, but not like that.

Ooh. I'm sure you all know what the 1960s and the mention of a college professor make me think of

Oh yes, I know what you are thinking. Yum! I prefer the setting to be 2012 though, looking like he does right now. Some curl! Just my thought.
