Can anyone from admin help, I tried to begin a new thread in the techno section about Err Bears, but all I get is:
Uhhh.... We're really sorry about this, but due to an angry bear server issues we could not load this forum. Our technicians are aware of this problem and hope to have the Err Bear under control this situation sorted shortly!
If you continue to have problems you can check our Server Status page or visit the ProBoards Support Forum for help.
It also seems that I can no longer use quotes or preview my messages on here.
All I can do is quick reply and modify.

Anniem and VO, I've moved your posts over to this thread.
Have you tried clearing your cookie cache/deleting your history? It might just be a temporary problem, Proboards-wise, but cookies stored when it went wrong might mean the error is replicated when you come back on.
Sorry, that's all I can suggest - we can't do anything here, I'm afraid.

Feel your kindness and thank you. so love the boards when I cannot sleep. Have my IT support worker in next week and she will no doubt be able to address the problem following your advice. Pity you cannot make London 2012 - plenty of room at the table. All administrators have been most kind to me. Thank you to all of them

Will try on other computer at this time tomorrow and on here earlier, just to make sure it isn't a time of day thing.

I've experienced a few problems getting onto the RT tonight. Checking out Pro boards support I found these messages so it looks like it's not just me and then So if you notice any problems it'll probably be related to this. Let's hope it gets sorted out soon and they manage to back up the server this time. I remember that horrible day when we lost several weeks posts

Thanks for the advance warning, Nell. I was having a lot of problems earlier in the week, so I'm glad they are taking steps to sort it. (Although I got an error when I tried to send a PM just now. ) I remember that horrible day when we lost several weeks posts <shudders> Don't even remind me - nightmare!!!

Warning: I'm not getting an Err Bear, but I can't seem to post today. I click "post" and then I get a "scripting error" notice or a "page busy" notice.
So, if you are writing a long post or PM, you may want to copy the text before you click "post," so you don't have to retype if it's lost. If you haven't copied it, sometimes clicking the Back button on your browser will take you back to the reply box with your typed post, sometimes it will not--it's usually worth a try (in internet explorer; I don't know about other browsers).
This is my third try at this post, let's see if it works.
Edited to say: Yay!!

A cold shudder went though me when I read this....OMG it took me back to the early days when I lost so much CJC work..it was horrendous. I'm all for the copy and paste procedure these days. ;D

Is anyone else having problems when they try to use the code buttons of any sort in the reply box? For example, if I use the image button to paste in the lovely image below (courtesy of Laila in the "Have we got" thread), and then I try to paste another image in the same reply, the box erases everything I have typed/pasted before, and replaces it with the new image. Or if I have typed any text at all before pasting an image, the text is deleted and then replaced with the image. If I try to apply a font like italics to just one part of a reply, the code "jumps" so that the whole reply is italics. If I type in the image codes manually, like [ img] and [ /img], I can post multiple images, but some of the font codes like [ i] and [ /i] still apply to the whole post, no matter what I do.

Yes, Rueful! I was having the same problem for a few days, except for me it was when trying to use smileys, but it seems to have sorted itself out now (touch wood!) However, I can't see the photo in your post - just the pizza box. Weird. Oh, just found a similar problem on the support board: support.proboards.com/thread/489030/insert-attachment-wipes-textSo if it happens again, looks like one way to retrieve the text is to use Ctrl+Z on the keyboard to get back what's been wiped, and then you'd have to type the images codes, as you did to get round the problem, rather than use the button. (From some of the posts on the Support Board, it looks like there were major server issues on Wednesday night, so I don't know if that's connected to this problem - although it was happening over a few days for me.)

Thanks, GE2. Unfortunately, it is still happening. When I post the first pic, it's ok. But when I click the image button a second time, in the "image URL" and "Alt text" boxes, my post is quoted. Even if I delete all that from the boxes, when I click "insert image," all my text is deleted (or wiped, as the link you posted calls it). And Ctrl Z doesn't work, even though it has in the recent past. I guess I will have to get on the Support Board myself.

I contacted proboards support regarding my little problem (in which posting a second image or smiley deleted whatever I had already typed), and it's a known issue that they're working on. It only seems to occur if you are typing a post in the BBCode tab of the Reply box. So if you notice that adding an image or smiley deletes other text in your post, type your messages in the Preview tab rather than the BBCode tab. support.proboards.com/thread/489496/insert-image-wiping-previously-entered
