There is an interview with the key creator of Rufus's pilot with the title: Richard LaGravenese On Writing/Directing THE LAST FIVE YEARS Film, Plus BEHIND THE CANDELABRA, Two New TV Series & More
No, unfortunately he doesn't tell much about the series (okay, it is almost nothing), but this interview can be seen as a general portait of how LaGravenese thinks, works, enthuses. (I have seen some of his movies, but I've never read any interview with him before.)

"(...)I knew the material so well and I love it so much. And, I designed very specific camera moves with my cinematographer, so there was a lot of work put into that - some shots have a lot of moving around, while some are more static.
PC: Can you give us any examples?
RL: "If I Didn't Believe In You", for example, is all done in one take. So, you know, you're seeing Anna's reaction to what he's saying - in that moment when he says that line we were just talking about, he is behind her and she is facing camera and it just kills her; and, you get to see her emotions. So, things like that add a whole other layer to the show, emotionally. It's not just his song, it's how it affects her - and that happens in many moments."

"PC: So, looking ahead, can you give me any hints about your upcoming drama series, directed by Taylor Hackford?
RL: We're casting now and we are going to be shooting in New York. All of the casting people told me that this season has been really difficult - just insane - and every show is having a hard time finding the right actors. You know, the territory has changed and a lot of really good actors want to do cable series, but they don't necessarily want to do network TV and make the commitment of 22 episodes or whatever. They find that the liberties and the creative freedoms that you get in cable is more interesting to them than the censorship of a network show. So, even though we are trying to push the envelope here with this show, we're having a difficult time in casting. So, we'll see in a couple of weeks! [Note: Katie Holmes was cast as the lead on the ABC series since this interview took place.]"

Really good actors deserve really good things! Oh, ABC, behave and be really clever!!!!

link <-- This is a 25 minutes long radio interview with Sinéad Cusack. It was aired on April 20, so it's not a new thing, but it has some very good parts. (The bad part is the interviewer herself, I would have pushed her off the chair some times.)
I like Sinéad's voice when she talks about the experience being in Kafka's The Trial. (As an eleven years old girl. Deaf and mute. Riveted by the stage. A Kafka play!) Well, I just like her answers and her style all along. There are some words about The Sea. And about quite a few other things.

An early example of a brilliant question, "The award. Were you pleased to get it for the film...?" I wish she'd answered, "No. I hate it when people praise my work."

But it's an interesting interview anyway, because Ms Cusack is very articulate. Thanks for sharing it!

Edited to say: I wrote the above about 15 minutes into it--now I've just come to the last few minutes, when the interviewer asks a number of rude and personal questions. Come on, Adina--you hold her and I'll hit her.

This is a 14 minutes long interview with Patrick Marber. It is a fresh Youtube video, but the interview is from 1999, when Closer was on Broadway.
It is not a very deep interview, but it was good to see who is behind the play. (I saw the movie in 2004, but that's all.)
They added two very very brief moments from the performance, we get a glimpse of all characters: Natasha Richardson as Anna, Rupert Graves as Dan, Anna Friel as Alice, and Ciarán Hinds played Rufus's Larry.
