I recently heard a fantastic piece of music.
I think it is quite old but it is new to me. It is Enya's 'The long Ships'
I am going to track down the rest of her work!
.
PS I posted this here and later realised it is not film related! Sorry!
If you want to move it GE2, please do.

I am going to track down the rest of her work! Frannie, also check out Clannad. (Harry's Game, Robin of Sherwood etc.) Enya Brennen was a former member. And enjoy your Enya journey - some fantastic music. Her album Shepherd Moons is one of my favourites. Just gorgeous.

LTM . Thanks for the Info. I know and love Clannad's work( partic Harry's Game theme) but somehow I missed the connection,
Kate ! You might like this, if you don't know it already. Enya's work has the same glorious sound as Loreena McKennitt, Celtic or mediaeval.
Below is the url of a youtube post of Loreena's 'Lady of Shalott' that you introduced me to. You might like it.
You too, LTM. If you like Clannad and Enya, you might like this.

Thanks Frannie. There is a film/TV link here - some of the tracks have been used in films. The Theme from Harry's Game was used in Patriot Games. Robin of Sherwood in the TV series etc. So I reckon you are on the right thread.

An Enya album was one of the first CDs I bought with my pocket money And like Loreena McKennitt, her beautiful music never grows old for me. Speaking of both: check out their Christmas albums. Loreena's "A Midwinter Night's Dream" is one of my all-time favourites for the season. I only know a few songs by Clannad. Isn't one of the members Enya's sister?

Is this thread about any music we like? - missed something like that! (although you have a music thread, but it hasn´t been used for a long time)

Feel free to add anything you like, midoro (And besides, dredging up old threads is allowed, too!) My latest favourite is Passenger's "All the Little Lights" album. The singer's voice is kind of weird, but I like it, and I love the guy's humour.

Kate, have you checked out Jack Johnson, 'Banana Pancakes'?
Also worth a listen to Jason Mraz?

Thanks for the tip, LTM. I only know both guys' singles that got played on the radio.
I'm also still very much into Mumford & Sons, Young Rebel Set, Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros (thanks to Meg!) and lots of older stuff like Springsteen, Leonard Cohen, Johnny Cash.
Two other good rock discoveries I made this year were Biffy Clyro and The Airborne Toxic Event.

Also like him very much! Most of the others I´ve never heard of, as I enjoy classical music most of the time. One of the exceptions is Michael Bublé, whose ballades and his voice remind me of Frank Sinatra (also one of my favourites!).
