You are very welcome ladies. Glad you all enjoyed seeing it. I'd love to be able to get more of these candid shots without being too 'pap-ish', but it's not easy to get past Rufus's harem of adoring fans!! LOL Last week I was chatting with a young lad who was checking our tickets at the Donmar. He asked if we came to see anyone in particular. We both told him Rufus (of course). He laughed and said, 'Yes, he does seem to be very popular'.

Lovely Photos Rai, Nell and LTM. for posting and sharing. (Earlier in this thread LTM you mentioned a pic I took of the teapot in Trafalgar Square saying how much you liked it. I can't believe it, but hubbie deleted it!!! He thought all the photos was transferred on our computer and did some 'housekeeping' with the camera. I'm so disappointed , but at least Rufus wasn't in it!)

It was like when I went back down to the Donmar on Saturday to try and get some brighter photos and go to take the camera out and find out that the previous night the kids had been messing about with it and had filled up the memory! Luckily, I had my phone to take some photos with.

Yes a real shame about the loss of the teapot photo. The bike in the foreground did look so good.

Lovely pic LTM! I'm beginning to think you dreamt that teapot Lassie and I dreamt seeing the pic of it. Either that or they really do wheel it out at night . If so maybe you can have another go at getting a pic? I think I may have discovered why the matinee viewers have been so quiet.... I was flicking through a ponsey mag in the hotel (In London priced at £7 ) and saw a small rehearsal pic of Roof (yes I did purloin the magazine ) There is a small article headed "Pioneering Performance" - Donmar Warehouse. There's a bit of waffle about diverse artistic policy and then " From this spring, you will find a strong political theme in both The Vote (April 24 - May 7), a unique drama set in the final 90 minutes of polling day 2015 and which will be broadcast live on tv; and Closer, a fictional account inspired by the occupy London movement in 2011 (to April 4)." No wonder those matinee viewers were shocked In case you were wondering - this was the pic....

It's only Rufus's fans going to see Closer who are occupying London! Good scrounging, Nell!

Well the run of Closer has finished tonight. It's been an absolute pleasure to have RUFUS back in London and I'm sure he has enjoyed it as much as we all have. I have seen the play several times and on my last night Thursday, it was outstanding and as fresh as the opening night's performance. It was funny, tragic and very dramatic with an absolutely superb script. All the cast have been brilliant and of course RUFUS, as you have seen from the official reviews, has given spectacular performances that must have been quite exhausting, especially on the two performances days. After each visit RUFUS has been so generous with his time, had some lovely chats and plenty of laughs and always made himself available for photos. On Thursday night we were fortunate to meet up again after the play for another nice chat, more photos, and fond farewells, till the next time, hopefully.
I would also like to say how nice it has been to meet up again with fellow Rooftoppers, and to also have had the pleasure of meeting new ones along the way this time round.
Thank you also all the ladies who have been so gracious in your posts in response to Rooftoppers reviews and photos. I know that many were obviously unable to make it to the play, and I sincerely hope that you will get the opportunity some time soon. We never dreamt that we would get another play so soon again in London.
Finally, thank you LTM for your company on all our visits. Thank you also for all our dining, and, if not wine-ing then certainly plenty of latte-ing. Not forgetting all the laughs along the way. Thank you also for your photos that you have shared on the board, and the others that I will treasure.
For a while at least it's back to the DVD stash, and back to the rolling eyes of husband and sons.
Here's to the next time.
