Finally here after no broadband at home for the best part of a week! You just don't realise when it's not there just how much you use it. I can't really add much more to what Jamolivej said in her report about our last visit to the play on Thursday 2nd April. Other than to say, that I am really gonna miss Dr. Larry in spite of all his 'issues'. You have to feel sympathy for Larry, (Rufus was so inspiring in the role) and although he would appear on the surface a somewhat predatory male of the species, Larry does appear to have a loving/caring side. I was constantly left with the impression that he really loved Anna despite his extra-curricular impulses. Rufus's portrayal of Dr. Larry made it impossible (IMHO) to actually dislike him. A fantastic play and all four of the cast members did themselves proud. Good luck to them all for their future work. A special 'break a leg' wish to Rachel Redford as she embarks on her relatively new acting career. A very talented young lady. And finally, RUFUS. What more can we say about this amazing actor? I have felt so privileged each and every time I have seen him on stage. Just mesmerising. Long may he continue. Thanks Rufus for everything. All the best with The Man in the High Castle and here's hoping that you get all the roles (in whatever medium) you desire.

I have felt so privileged each and every time I have seen him on stage. Just mesmerising. Long may he continue. Thanks Rufus for everything. All the best with The Man in the High Castle and here's hoping that you get all the roles (in whatever medium) you desire. Firstly, @ the photo, LTM!! I think I just managed to hold my jaw up when I saw it! But, yes, I have to agree with everything you've said!! I only wish that I'd gotten to see it again, but being a little "destitute" after Christmas and with the limited availability of tickets in the first place, I'm glad I was lucky enough to see it just once! I knew our man would be absolutely superb in the role of Larry the Dermatologist, making him somehow likeable underneath all that lechery & foul language! Rufus always seems to have a way of making even his most debased characters seem human & easy to sympathise with! It truly was a sublime production, and with little else to go on besides the actors' performances. They were all good, but of course I'm going to be biased and say Rufus was the outstanding performer of the troupe! I hope all my fellow Rooftoppers who got to see it thoroughly enjoyed themselves as much as I did (don't think I'll get bored of telling how I stood slack-jawed after Rufus walked past me before the play any time soon...or how my fingers brushed against his because of how he held the pen in his right hand & the fact I'm left-handed...). And that those who didn't get to see it enjoyed all our reports, without seeing too much of the green-eyed monster in themselves! But, here's to a bright future, and more London-based plays, for Rufus (& the rest of the cast of course)!!

How very true artisanlibra, especially the comment about the 'debased characters'....LOL Glad you liked the photo... Hopefully a few more photos may appear soon. I am sure there must have been someone there on the last Friday and Saturday. Looking forward to those...

Rufus always seems to have a way of making even his most debased characters seem human & easy to sympathise with! That's one of the main reasons why I like him so much (well, except for the fact that he's easy on the eyes). You always feel there is more to the character than meets the eye, that there is a reason why a bad guy has turned into a bad guy.

Hmmmm, I like to think of Dr. Larry as 'mis-understood', not necessarily a 'bad guy'!

Thanks to all those of you who wished me luck in overcoming my fear / shyness / OMGness!! at the idea of meeting Rufus, but it was not to be I was at the last performance on Saturday night, but the thought of waiting around to speak to him was too much. How silly does that sound when you write it down ..... It was my second visit (and Mr BB came along for his second visit too - I'm going to find he's joined the Rooftop one of these days ... ) . I found the play even more powerful, and definitely noticed a lot more of the detail, and made more connections than when I first saw it. Let's see when he's back on stage again

Oh no, BB, better luck next time! At least you got to enjoy the play again, and got a different experience of it! To be honest, it doesn't sound silly at all - when you write that you lost the nerve. I mean, I nearly bottled it the night I went, and waited to meet Rufus after the play. After all, I near enough fainted the second I realised he'd walked past me into the theatre before the play began!! I was just left gawping like an idiot in the street for five minutes... and I was barely any better when he came out of the theatre. He had to say the first word for crying out loud! I just stood there in complete starstruck silence, trying to not to laugh like a babbling fool. I think I made the mistake of meeting his gorgeous eyes as soon as he looked at me; after that, there was no hope, I was well & truly gone... Let's hope we're not left waiting too long for the next play! Maybe we can both do with better luck next time, eh?

Nice report Lassie, shame that it is now just a memory, albeit a lovely one at that. Still memories are lovely to have and keep and you can keep bringing them out. As you say to see your favourite actor performing at the Donmar is quite an experience, you can't get any CLOSER than that. Not a theatre that I was familiar with, but the perfect venue for this production.
