Yay! Just saw "The Taming of the Shrew" with my sister. She came over to visit, and I offered, just like that, in between, to watch it. Am I mean and underhand or what!? ;D She loved it of course. And than she stood kind of quiet and serious and tried to explain why she liked Petruchio and Rufus, and I was secretly LOL. ;D ;D edit: Half an hour later I got a question if I had any other movies with that actor...(I feel better knowing that i am not alone in my quest to spread the word about Rufus, but also because his magic works on others too, apparently, not just on me ) Now, I guess, we'll have to watch ZEN.

I believe we will have another rooftop member soon- my sister. If she is brave enough to join. We watched Zen Vendetta, and I gave her the DVDs to watch all episodes. In this way she can share her time watching Rufus with the boyfriend, all parties will be happy. I expect she will invade my Rufus films collection these days.

yeah. the desperate grasp to serious analysis is the classic beginning of rufusitis.
here, the cbc is showing reruns of TPOTE, so i called my mom, who LOVED the book, and told her to change channels. and just on that very second, lo and behold, TOM was shown, all manly and candlelit.
i said "this is ... TOM."
silence.
"you know, TOM BUILDER. isnt he great? lovely? gorgeous? perfect?"
father philip entered. mom got hysterical.
"oh... is this... is this... the hero monk? now THAT is one handsome man. yes. just as i imagined him. he is perfect! is this jack? yes... little jack... great cast!!! oh, this lovely woman has GOT to be ellen...."
i cleared my throat as TOM was once again filling the screen, bringing mom back to silence once more.
"MOM! come ON! this is SUCH a PERFECT TOM! my god he is so handsome and manly and strong and sweet and ..."
"not my type."
"WHAT DO YOU MEAN NOT MY TYPE? HOW CAN HE NOT BE YOUR TYPE? HOW CAN HE NOT BE ANYONE'S TYPE?"
"i don't know. he looks like a villain."
that gave me pause.
"... a villain?"
" yeah, you know, the kind that kills people, perverts young girls and ends up on the guillotine or something. daaaaaaaaaark."
i changed the subject, but mom was already gooing over father philip. a priest. hmm. go figure.

But, Tipou, your mother is right!! Just look at Rufus's non-villain roles: He looks like "...the kind that kills people..." "...perverts young girls..." "...and ends up on the guillotine or something..." "...daaaaaaaaaark..." ;D P.S. Rufus can be pretty scary as angry good guy. Charles, Marke or Jacob are able to frighten me to death. We talk about his deep characters as villain, but I think it works in the other direction as well. P.P.S. I'm a faint-hearted type of girl. P.P.P.S. Rufus is my type. ;D I just wouldn't like to sit on a pillar at night or be a rich woman in a lift with Petruchio...oops...I think I need more time to think on this topic.

I'm sorry GE2...I hope I didn't offend. Yes, Alan Alda is funny, but did you have a crush on him when you were 16 like my sister did?? She used to bake cakes when it was his birthday and everything.....
