Who have been your favorite actors that have co-starred with Rufus (or worked well with him?)? What about least favorites? Who would you LIKE to see him work with?
I just felt like starting a thread. ;D

Very good one Miss October...let me see...
My fav = Shirley Henderson and Kate Winslet Least Fav = Minnie Driver and Kim Basinger
I would love to see him with:
Female = Kate Winslet (romantic comedy/drama), Julie Ormand, Monica Bellucci (suspense thriller) and Gwenyth Paltrow (she can do just about anything in any genre), oh Charlize Theron, yea definitely, some mystery thriller movie.
Male = Robert DeNiro, Ralph Fiennes, Adrien Brody and Edward Norton
I would love to see Roof do a action flick with Nick Cage. All and all I'd love to see his next movie be a comedy or action film. Modern day stuff.

I'd love to see Rufus work with Kiera Knightly because though she is young she is a similar type of emotional actor and I think they could bring out great things in each other. She could benefit greatly from his skill and he from her freshness. And on stage Cherry Jones who is just simply brilliant. And I think it would be fun to see Rufus work with Bill Nighy in some really brilliant comedic vehicle where they respectively play the characters of the two Looney Tunes dogs Spike and Chester in human form and preferably against type. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Spike_the_Bulldog_and_Chester_the_Terrier

I love the idea of Rufus doing something with Bill Nighy. James McAvoy and Michael Sheen are also on my wishlist. And I wouldn't mind something or other (preferably a play) with the hot NY luvvie set, i.e. Ethan Hawke, Billy Crudup, Josh Hamilton, Paul Rudd etc. I'm being really selfish here! ;D

Anthony Hopkins. That would be fascinating and I would pay a lot to see it. Oh yeah. If AH would act again and not walk through the role as he has of late. It could be fabulous.

If only AH had a proper, grown-up actor to play with, I'm sure he could dig deep inside and find he's still got it. It'd also be nice to see two actors who aren't so far up their own arses with their own hype that they forget what they've been hired to do.

STOP! you're getting me all excited about something that can never be. so think of a story... ;D It's no fun without a story. (they'd probably have to sneak in Britney Spears or Jessica Simpson to get the box office up (in their little pea brains) so you might as well plan for some 20-something talentless ding-a-ling as well. Maybe James Franco or Tobey McGuire(not 20 I know but you get the gist))

Both the original and Dirty Rotten Scoundrels were hilarious and I think Rufe and AH would play off each other perfectly. We all know that Rufus is a born comic and Mr Hopkins is a truly funny man as well (anyone seen A Chorus of Disapproval?), although I would concede that his choice of roles of late betrays most of his strengths.....actually, I think I'm just desperate to see Rufus do some comedy again.

I love the idea of Rufus doing something with Bill Nighy. Bill Nighy was in Stoppard's Arcadia with Rufus, but if I remember correctly, they didn't actually have any scenes together. Nighy was in the parallel modern part. Someone correct me if I'm wrong about that. They would be very good together - they're friends, after all. :-) G xo

As usual bar, you are indeed correct. Bill Nighy and Rufus were in Arcadia together only in different centuries.
