I would have liked Rufus to have been able to work again with Nigel Hawthorne and Ian Richardson. Nigel because they seemed to have such a rapport, and Ian because he was such a great actor and I'd have liked to see their screen chemistry together.

I'd like Rufus to have Carla Gugino as a leading lady again, and for Romola Garai to be cast opposite him, too - I liked her in AG. I'd also like to see him act with Sarah Parish, who was in The Holiday as Iris's friend at the party at the start but didn't share any scenes with him. Oh, and Joanna Lumley again.

Others I'd like to see Rufus act with are Dennis Hopper (he's so off-the-wall, I can see them getting along well), Ken Stott and Robert Carlyle.

I thought of someone else I'd like to see him work with, Tilda Swinton.

I'd like to see him with Robert Duvall............but that goes back to me wanting to see him do a good, well-written western! And I'm not sure why I want to see that, other than I can't picture it!

Funny you mention that mcr5137, I just recently started getting into Deadwood, the first western I've ever really liked, and I can't help but imagine Rufus in it. He could've played Ian McShane's son or something. hehe

We rented the first season of Deadwood and I watched the first 3 eps (hubby only watched the first one and left) and I just couldn't get into it. I think it was a little TOO gritty for my tastes! But I would like to see Rufus do something similar......or like Lonesome Dove......Broken Trail......Dances With Wolves.......things like that. Again, it's because I can't picture him doing it at all, which is why I want to see it!
